CELPIP language test results

Hello everyone,

I took my CELPIP english test in January this year, and I am just about to submit my application. Will my test result still be valid? I noticed that CELPIP has changed the testing format and scoring system since April 1, 2014.

Any advise?

The changes in the test format doesn't matter. The results are valid for two years from test date.

Thanks for the information. I was more worried about CIC doesn't know how to access the old testing results. Should I include the old scoring system sheet in my application?

I found the information on the website:

Anyone knows how to interpret that? Does that mean the old score before April 1, 2014 is still acceptable?

Any feedback will be much appreciated.

^ Maniac is right - results up to two years old are still accepted.

That page even describes for you the two scoring systems - the one in use prior to April 1, and the current one - and what results you need for each NOC level depending upon when you sat the exam.

Not sure why you are worried about CIC accessing old test results. Any tests completed before April 1st are valid an are accepted provided the certificate is overall still valid.

I took mine in Dec 2013 and everything is processing well.

CIC knows how to do their job. Only send what you are being requested.

It says, if you sit the test on or after April 1, you must take the CELPIP-G 2014 test.

It then says, if you sat the test on or after April 1, your results will be somewhere on this new scale (where scores go from 0 to 12); otherwise, they will be somewhere on the old scale (where scores go from 0 to 5H).

It's not possible to take the "wrong" test, because the testing provider offered only the old version prior to April 1, and has offered only the new version since April 1.

So relax!

You are over complicating things mate. The instructions clearly say that test results are valid for two years. Don't think about it too much.

So I guess that it says: "After April 1, 2014, the CELPIP - G test will not be used anymore, it will be replaced by CELPIP -G 2014" It simply means the old test will not be administrated. The testing results from the old CELPIP will still be acceptable?

Any test taken before April 1st will be valid for applications after April 1st.

I noticed that they updated the language result website. Now it says:

"As of April 1, 2014, you must take the “CELPIP-G 2014” test. The CELPIP-G 2014 scoring grid is different from the CELPIP-G test."

Does that confirm the new and old scores are both acceptable?
