Hello All,

Can someone please advise if CIO will return/refuse an application if part of the 12 month work experience was gained when an applicant was a full time student, or if that is something that will be rejected by a Visa Officer (i.e. after being placed into processing)?

Thanks!

I just checked with a CIC Call center agent and he advised me that so long as the work was gained on an authorized work permit, it will be placed into processing.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on the same? Note that I fully understand that a CIC officer will reject work experience gained as a full time student. I just want to know if the application will be placed into processing.

Please advise.

Thanks :)

I am not sure but I think if you just want to get AOR, you will get it while you fill all forms and include all required docs in your application.

Yup! I just want the AOR.

The time spent studying as a full time student will not be counted towards your CEC. Visa officer will ask you for your school transcript at that did for me. They knew that I had applied for a study permit even though I did not mention it in my application. Luckily for me, I withdrew my application before classes started and registrar was willing to provide letter backing my statement. If you do not consider the time you were a full time student, do you think that you have 12 months in the bag?

I would send them transcript now with detailed explanation to avoid future delays. But wait for senior to respond before you do anything

He has to wait till he gets his AOR first, because without the file number they are not able to lokate his application.

Just to make myself very clear, I am fully aware that work experience gained when an applicant is a full time student will not be counted towards CEC Experience. I just need the AOR, I know it will be refused by a Visa Officer (which I do not care about). Just to reiterate myself, I just want the AOR.

you have to wait and see. Rules are new not sure ow they implemented right now. Currently we know they check following at CIO

1)IELTS SCORE
2)Reference letters with 12 month of experience (Doesnot try to match NOC and job duties)
3)Check your forms

On the side note, Did u checked on forms that your exp is gained while you are student.

Forms? You mean schedule 8? Yeah there was a question which asked if the experience was gained as a full time student. I know that the CIO officer will check if I have claimed one year of experience. However, I am not sure if they do the counting, but I am sure it is checked by a visa officer which as I have mentioned before, I do not care about, as I only want the AOR.

Why though. They might even be doing you a favor by making you reapply but I'm guess you need to apply for bowp because your pgwp is expiring soon?
