CEC without IELTS

Hi,
I have heard about applying for CEC without passing IELTS first. (Planning to pass it after applying and send the certificate later)
Recently I also read in this forum that you can apply now and send PCC later. I also understood that for PCC, they will keep the original passport. In that case how can I book the IELTS(they also need to see the passport on test date)

So I just wanted to ask the more experienced guys out here about their opinion.

Thanks in advance,
A Desi

if you apply for CEC without IELTS, they will return your application as IELTS is mandatory - please read the application guide thoroughly

Regarding IELTS & PCC, you need to manage the dates and balance that out.however, you cannot do both at the same time

You need IELTS before you send your application. Dont send your application without one, it will be returned or even worse your application might get rejected. Thats $550 down the drain. Please also look at cic website regarding upcoming changes with respect to IELTS band requirements.

As far as police certificate goes, yes you can send your application without one. As I understand, it is the only document which you can send letter as part of your application.

Your comment has me thinking...this site is a great resource but like everything else about our society, there is an unintended downside i.e. some applicants no longer read instructions or the guide - it is easier/quicker to just ask right? If the answer is incorrect, then you don't know better, right?

It is sad to see applications rejected or returned b/c instructions were not followed. Whatever happened to us learning how to fish instead of waiting for fish?

Funny you mentioned that because I was thinking about that too earlier, esp when I come across questions regarding some very basic straightforward instructions. Anyhow, always glad to help though. I personally received a lot of help if I had any questions, so its only right if I contribute back.

And you have been a great resource to this website since a long time. Very admirable, and Kudos!

Hi All,

Thanks for all the helpful replies.

I would just like to mention that I had gone to the website quite a lot of times, but since I am still in the preliminary stages of application (not even eligible to apply) I never found the need to download the application package. I was just checking the Who can Apply section which does not give more details. But after the replies I downloaded the package and the document check list made things much clearer to me. So thanks once again for that.

I would still like to hear about personal experiences from actual applicants rather than getting passive information from the cic website. If cic website were that complete and clear we all would not be here and there would not be any need for any forums or the need for any discussion on requirements. Having said that, I also believe that getting some basic information is a must before posing questions in the forums. It would be illogical and time consuming to just rely on forums to get all the basic information.

Have a good day...
