It feels like IRCC just loves PNP - the last few ITAs have only been PNP, brushing CEC to the side. Last year, there were no drawas for 6 months! 6 months of nothing when your Express Entry profile expires every year.

That's pretty weird considering a lot of people have PGWP expiring. Does anyone know why this is happening or if IRCC has a plan for PGWP holder/CEC applicants? The lack of information and uncertainty isn't fun.....

tru tru. Last year, there were no draws "continuously" for 6 months! it was all program draws (cec+pnp+fsw) from July 6 2022- January 18 2023. of course considering 2022 it was 5 months.

I still feel that they are done with quota for 2023, now for 2024 they will start giving ITA's around July (if not before).

We may see a CEC only draw very soon , if not then July onwards it should rain ITA'S

brushing CEC to the side
In the last 9 month long draws, CECs were issued more ITAs than FSW or even PNPs as the scores were high enough and PNPs were rarely more than 25% of the invitations issued. Why is it that you think CECs are brushed aside?

That's pretty weird considering a lot of people have PGWP expiring.
Nothing weird here. PGWP is TRV. You are there to study and leave - that's the condition of that VISA. I think PGWP holders are now waking up realising that the gravy train has passed. Don't worry FSWs saw that happen in 2020. That's the nature of competition and policy changes.

Does anyone know why this is happening or if IRCC has a plan for PGWP holder/CEC applicants? The lack of information and uncertainty isn't fun.....
C-19 could go in favour of unskilled international graduates, but even at that, it will unlikely be the silver spoon PGWP holders are expecting it to be. C-19 ITAs would still be a small percentage of total ITAs issued till 2024. A million unskilled graduates even with 100k-150k ITAs issued/year will still be massively short.

I'd really love if IRCC can filter talent above everything else. Like how US does with expedited green card applications for Sr. Manager and above job titles with H1B/L1. Most PGWPs are extremely unskilled and shouldn't be treated at the same level as skilled/talented folks.

It is weird to see people use PGWP/CEC holder together, as they are different. Often it is an injustice to talented LMIA holders who land in Canada or CECs who do their part, study well and get the right job. They deserve a faster path no doubt, and they do have it.
