CEC - what is NM decision?

Hi guys, I am newbie here, so please bear with me if the question is too simple...

Got an email reply from CIC saying:" nm decision can be made until we receive the results from the background enquiry check."

I wonder what is nm decision? does this mean they will finalize my file once the results are received?

Also it seems it takes forever to get the background enquiry check...what things are included in the check?

Is there a way to push CIC for getting the results done faster?

It is probably a typo, should be "no decision can be made..." Completion of the background check will move your application to the next stage.

When did you apply? When did you receive aor? Which country were you born? Have you traveled a lot? Any military service?

Decision: NM = Not Made? Seems right.
