CEC - Student working more than 20h/week

I finished my study program last summer (June) and during my last semester, which was a summer term, I got a job related to my area of studies. During that time I was taking only one course that was left in order for me to graduate, and working this job full time. Now that I'm applying for my PR under the Canadian Experience Class, I was wondering if the fact that I worked full time before I graduate would negatively impact my application, even though I wasn't a full time student due to the number of courses I was taking.
Therefore, my letter of employment would say that I'm a full time employee since april, but my graduation was only 2 months later and, therefore, my working experience in Canada is counting only from June on.

Has anyone been through the same? Will this period before my graduation that I worked full time harm my application in any way??

Oh that's fine I think, did you have any problem when you were applying for your post graduation work permit?

No, but I drove to the boarder to get it. It's not like they deeply analyzed my documents. The officer just asked for my graduation letter and asked me a couple of questions.
But my concern now is that I've heard people saying we can only work full time after graduation, and even tho I was only taking one course, I was still in school. So I was worry that they would deny my application because of that.

Oh really I didn't know you can actually do it at the border. Did you go out and came back in canada in order to to it at the border ? And did you have any problem later on with your pr application? One of my friend had the same issue but didn't have any problem with his app.

Yes, you just have to cross the US boarder and come back. Quite easy!

So I just created my profile, still waiting for the ITA. But I suddenly came up with this concern... Did you friend work full time while in school too? And did he posted this info on his application?
The problem for me is that my employer wrote me an Employment Letter with the actual dates that I worked there, and I'm worry that when I submit this letter they'll see it and deny my application saying I worked full time when I wasn't supposed to.

he said he did back then in 2014, but he did not have any problem. I don't know about him having to issue his employment letter or some like that, but I 'll ask him about it then. I really don't think it can be a problem since your worked full time and proved the cic that you actually can support yourself in Canada by working and contribute to the country, you should be fine.

I would check with the international office.

My case:
I am a Phd student working on remote sensing and wanted to work on a contract on the same topic but the government agency that gave me had a deadline for me which literally means it will be like 25 hours per week - to meet the deadline. I researched this with my international office. Long story short - if the job is directly related to my thesis - then I can work on it full time. In this case, the work is only in my area but not directly related to my thesis however I can make a publication from it -but since it is not directly related to my Phd thesis I'm not sure if the fact that Im publishing from it would make a strong case.

I think my uni also said if the employer has an affiliation to my university I can work full time on it (can't remember). If I have time I can send the link to you....

But be very careful in your case, if your work contradicts the 20 hour max, the implicat

OP was still limited to 20 hours per week, even if enrolled part-time in the final semester. Unfortunate, this information is available online.
