CEC Spouse Issue

Hi All,

I am holding temp foreign work permit

Currently my CEC file is under processing. Applied in Feb2012 , received AOR in June 2012.

If I get married in Feb2012, will that delay my file? if Yes how long it will get into ? and will my file be on hold until spouse file is cleared?

What is the best option to get spouse into country asap?

Please guide me, appreciated your help

I guess you're talking about ur marriage in 2013 not in 2012 since Feb 2012 has already passed.

I guess, by Feb 2013, you will have your PR. If not, then you'll have to update ur information and add your spouse name in the application. your application will be on hold until your spouse gets the clearance from CIC. I added my spouse's name in my application after i got my medical request. And i would say, my application got delayed for like a month, cuz after a month of that she got her medical request.

Your Best Option:

If you don't receive ur PR by Feb 2013, then add ur spouse's name ASAP. And if you get your PR by Feb, then it will be different scene which I'm not aware of

I am planning to marry in in 2013, before getting married I would like to know that how it would be effecting to my current file.

As I heard that, if I update my current file under spouse in 2013 , it will take 6-8months delayed.

Is that true ?

what do you suggest, marry after PR or before PR ?

I need some help. I applied CEC May 2012. I got AOR august 31 . I got married June. I updated my CEC application to add spouse name on October 2nd. But the draft $550 (spouse), I send to windsor case processing centre by the CPP-ottawa informed me the payment should be send to windsor or detrioit visa office. But my Draft is not yet Cashed.
Any body know How long it will take to cashed of my draft. I check canada post Windsor VO received my draft on October 2 nd. Ottawa office received my application for add spouse name on October 2 nd also.

You got ur File # in June 2012. So lets say you're getting married in Feb 2013. In that case you will be very close to getting ur PR. So i would suggest to wait until you get your PR. But if you get married and add your spouse's name in your application, that will be a different for every case. My PR got delayed for like a month. But i read it in one of the post, he wrote that he added his wife's name after he got his MR(same as my case), and he gets MR for his wife a month later in Sep 2011, but after that he didn't hear anything from CIC. He tried to contact CIC in June fo this year, and in reply they say that they're doing a background check and they can't do anything at this moment. So every case is different.

You will be close to getting PR in Feb, so i would suggest wait for your PR and then get married. Rest is upto you.

I guess, the draft should be send to CPP-Ottawa not to Detroit Visa Office. The draft which you send to Detroit/Windsor visa office is for Landing purpose. I've sent the draft for my spouse's application in Ottawa.
