Called ircc today, still same answer that background is not started yet. She said the primary office is Edmonton and secondary is sydney. What does that mean. My application was in sydney and it is transferred to edmonton.
She is info sharing is completed ,what does that mean if anybody knows.

BGC consists of Criminality, Security and Info sharing checks. Your BGC might have started but Security might not be started or even if it gets started it would not have been udpated. Most of the files which moved to Edmonton have the Security Not started. BGC marks as full complete when all 3 parameters are completed or passed.

How many folks here have their background showing as “ application is in progress..” rather than “processing your background check..” .

also any update wrt to GU etc?

Application is in progress from the last week of Oct'21.

Somehow I feel the next two weeks will be good to see the progress/updates.

The files will be moved quickly to the next stages for Sep people.

I do not know if this goes as per my assumption. A couple of points support it.

• There were no significant PR approvals in January, so no contribution by Jan month to achieve this year's target.
• If there are some targets to achieve until Feb'22, the files need to move ASAP so that the process can be completed within this month (28 Feb).
• For Sep applications, this is the 6th month, if they still follow any SLA.

Please note, this is my personal opinion.
As we have seen in the past there are no defined processes or SLAs, that are getting followed in most cases so please take it lightly.

I managed to get hold of an IRCC agent today. My file is in Edmonton CPC. He said that Medical & Eligibility is passed, as well as Criminality is in progress. I told him that I have given biometrics Mid-December so could you please explain a bit in detail about criminality?
He responded that your application is in first stage of background check.
I don't have good prior experience with CPC-Edmonton. They had my PGWP application from 22nd July 2020 and they approved it on 8th August 2021.
Anyways, Let's hope for the best. Go team DEADmonton.

AOR 23 Sep 2021, Med passed 1 Nov 2021. I don't know how long I still need to wait and what I can do for now. Can any one give me some advice?

The only advice I can give is most of us are in the same boat and it's a wait game. My AOR is Sept 2nd and I spoke to IRCC agent today and literally no progress for the application since Oct 2021. VO CPC-Ottawa. Eligibility passed and Security not started.

Nope. My GCMS notes said that application was only awaiting final decision since November 2020.
