For those waiting for GMCS notes from IRCC, I got this when I emailed the portal this morning.

IRCC currently has reduced operational capacity due to exceptional measures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). As a result, there will be significant delays in responding to all requests under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act, as well as any emails sent to this email address, during this period.

Never mind that I ordered notes in fucking November. It may be a long wait before anyone gets GCMS notes, good luck to everyone who is waiting.

I wonder if this is also going to further slow application processing, these jokers are full of excuses.

Just joined this group. I am in the same boat like most of you.
AoR sept 2nd
Medical, eligibility passed
Criminality in progress
Security not started.
I have an emergency and need to travel to India but not sure what would happen if the copr email comes while I am outside of Canada.
Anyone experienced situation like this? and what could be the solution?

So luckily I was able to get hold of an agent. AOR 18th Sept, Biometrics and medical 27th October. Eligibility passed (not reflecting in my account), BG in process. No GU
I have a similar timeline - And IRCC support said eligibility passed and it is not reflected online. Do you know the VO?

The whole process is not transparent. There is nothing like stages or updates; there is no consistency whatever I saw and read about it.

I don't know why they keep these stages in their portal when there are no clear instructions or guidelines to follow it religiously.

Some people get proper updates on their status, but a few unlucky ones get more questions/ADR even after that stage gets clear as per their portal.

Some people don't get any updates at all, and suddenly, one day, they get a portal email that everything is approved. The timelines for this also differ; it is 2-6 months minimum, some are waiting for more than one year.

The most confusing statements are "We are processing your background check, we will send you a message if we need more information"

Or "your application is in progress; we will send a message when we start your background check.

For me, the first 2 months was We are processing your background check, and after 3 months, "we will send a message when we start your background check".

Then what they were doing in the initial 2 months, and why did they say We are processing? They also do not understand what these remarks mean to the applicants. Based on the officials, these status varies, application to application.

Despite providing every document/information, it is more than 130 days and there is no clarity except a few confusing status updates by them.

I feel somebody should tell them to remove these stages visibility to the applicants. It will be much better if Approved or not approved or ADR kind of information is received by the candidate within their timelines. None will have too many expectations in such a case.

I have talked to an agent about this situation. They said that if you get a portal email while you are out of the country you can fly back and declare you are in Canada. My two cents here, we do not know how much time we will get to reply to that portal email, and let's say they give us 1 week to confirm, flying back from any country especially India, would not come easy or cheap.

What is your secret to getting through?
Shall I spill it?

LOL! I will...

So you know how it goes? You call the immigration, they say something like "Setlay Are"? Which in french means press 1, I guess? Wait till they start asking about press 1 for UCI and immidiately press 2. Then wait till they start saying "Afghanistan Blah Blah.." and immediately press 1. Then (This is the secret sauce) press 2 and then 0.

This ensures you are in line in less than 20 secs. If they say "Busy" just hang up and try again with same sequence. I usually get in 8 tries or about 3 minutes. Then there is a MASSIVE wait. Today I waited for 50 minutes.

So in short :

When you hear "UCI" Press 2
When you hear Afghanistan Press 1 and then 2 and then 0.

If you hear busy, repeat.

Thank you for this. Sincerely, I've been trying to get through for 3 weeks, and I've spent a couple of hours dialing and hanging up.

By the way, this is actually a concern and valid reason to delay the whole process.

Ironically, this happened in the last one month, which was a kind of 4th month of all Sep applications. So, if the application is not touched at all, it might take 5-6 months more with a valid excuse now.

Before December, there was an excuse of Afghanistan now this, in next 2-3 moths some more new reasons. People who got PR in the last 3-4 months are very lucky. Now it seems there is no end to this waiting.

I don't think our applications are not touched at all. Majority of Sept applicants are done with eligibility, medicals
