Just got a hold of an ircc customer agent, she told my eligibily and medical is passed, info sharing is complete, background and security is not started, VO : Sydney
Aor: 19 Sep , used old medicals from 2019.

Is anyone in the same situation?

Hey, you're not alone. Complexity wise, our applications are the same:
- No dependents
- 1 year of Foreign Work Experience
- I traveled to Canada three times in the last 10 years (when residing in another country)
- 1 yr of work experience in Canada
- Degrees from American Universities

AOR September 8th
Medicals passed on Oct 18th
Biometrics updated Oct 27th
Only GU was December 29 (I haven't heard anything since)

Order GCMS notes to see what's happening with your application or give IRCC a call.
Can you tell me how to apply gcms notes

Yes that's the same thing told, old medical expired that means we have used the old medicals as per new policy.

Looks like Sydney VO has delays. Anyways my background says in progress still since Dec 3rd.

Mine also changed processing to application in progress sometime in November and since then hasn’t changed .

Similar timelines for a few applications. Most of the applications of Sep AOR got confirmation by now. Not sure what is the reason, but in some cases like us, we did not have any update after Oct or Nov first or the second week. Four months over, and there is no sign of progress or any movements.

What is your VO? Mine is CPC Ottawa.

Congratulations! Eligibility is the key to your PR door. If that’s passed and you don’t have any medical or security related issues, everything else is way much less complicated and weighted. Sit tight, and just wait for the good thing to happen :)

Yeah, the immigration process is a total shit show.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to immigrate to Canada anymore, unless they are from a third world country and unhappy there.

Canada is shaping up to become a third world country and what IRCC is pulling can only be described as unethical. Over the years, they have purposely reduced the existing information transparency for visa applicants:

  1. First, they had done away with the e-CAS system
  2. Then, starting with 2021, they had removed the progress bar in MyCIC

Their process specs aren't all bad per se, but their implementation is lackluster. The only reason there's a need to order GCMS notes is their reduced level of transparency regarding visa application status. They don't give a shit about real existential problems that immigrants have as a result of their inefficient and ineffective process implementation.

Literally hundreds of thousand visa applicants have to suffer for it per year.

Worldwide, Canada has done some pretty good marketing to present herself as a bountiful country to immigrate to. In reality, it's us immigrants who bring in a lot of money into Canada to be fleeced by learning institutions, immigration consultants and lawyers and lots of other service providers such as auto insurance who charge us 2x - 3x the fees they charge Canadians and PRs.

Going back is no veritable option, since we've already invested so much. We'd be going back piss poor. And the country we emigrated from sucks even more.

Unless you have the press intervening on your behalf (for example: https://bc.ctvnews.ca/frustration-over-delays-in-pr-card-and-citizenship-applications-1.5417804), you're out of luck and completely at the mercy of IRCC bureaucrats.

I called IRCC customer care today. I hoped for some status after long waiting time. The agent on the other side was " Once you have some changes to your application you will receive email ".
I said " Sir, I am aware of the process, but my application doesn't give me any clarity. It has not showed me any progress since months. Would it be possible to let me know if my eligibility is passed.
And he repeats the same line again. There is nothing other than waiting for email notification i guess.

How did you even get through? I called 15 times and was told the call volume was high and to hang up and try again.
