Hello experts,

Could you please advise on below queries.

Currently working as a TFW. Do we need to show any study or relevant study for CEC elegibility?
How do they calculate hours as i have worked for 6 month average of 23 hours per week. Now i m full time 40 hrs per week. I m not sure more hours will be added to the previous week as i m short of 7 hrs per week?
Experience has to be minimum for 52 weeks or it can be lower?
Please advise ASAP.

Min 1 year ft experience. 1 week ft is 30 hours of work. Total is 1560 hours.

Thanks for the response. Do they need any study?
But in January 2015 this will remain the same that is the time I will eligible??

This means tht u cannot count ur 6 months (23hrs/wk) experience as full. You will have to work for couple more months to cmplete 1 yr.

Read the requirements for CEC here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

You need to meet these requirements to apply under the Canadian Experience Class. You must:

  • plan to live outside the province of Quebec,
  • have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply,
  • have gained your experience in Canada with the proper authorization,
  • meet the required language levels needed for your job for each language ability (speaking, reading, writing, and listening).

There is no requirement for studies whatsoever for CEC. Hope this helps :)

Hi nitt,

you can not use hours for weeks that you are working over 40 hours to accumulate the total number of hours needed, for any weeks in which you worked less then 30 hours you will need to add extra (days, weeks, months) whatever is needed to accumulate the one year full time work experience or equivalent in part time so basically when working part time hours it means that it will take you longer then one year to qualify.
as of now there is no education requirement for CEC.
as of january 2015 the EXPRESS ENTRY model for immigrating to canada will kick in,this new model is kind of similar to the ones in australia and new zeland currently which is called expression of interest.the express of entry will be effective for FSW,FST and CEC so there will be no guarantee that everyone who has one year of skilled experience in canada will be invited to apply.applicants with valid job offers(arranged employment) and nomination by provinces will go to the front of the line, the rest will depend on the canadian labour market and your skills.indeed its going to be very competitive and only those highly skilled and bright candidates will be chosen for sure.

good luck.

Thanks for the brief answer CANADA123. I did read the Express entry it says there will be a pool where people can put their resumes in and whoever is eligible under the whichever programme will get the priority. Moreover it clearly describes Canada need more skilled worker so they want new people to apply under the express entry system to get the Residency faster. People working in Canada nearly 330,000 TFW what they will do. I don't think that individually FSW,FSTP,CEC or PNP will be finished. They opened the category in 1 May 2014 where they want people to show 1 year of experience F/T. how can it be possible to achieve the experience by December 2014.

Please don't take it as a Suggestion. This is what I m thinking logically.
More opinions are welcome.

^I had the same reasoning until I got my butt kicked in another thread.

I was of the opinion that those in the express pool get processed faster and ahead of the others, while the rest are processed 'normally.' It doesn't mean those not in the pool cannot apply for PR.

No, unless you work in a regulated occupation (e.g. physician, nurse, engineer...).

For the part-time work, you'll have to count the exact number of weeks and add up all the hours, then divide by 30. Let's say it was 26 weeks at 23 hours per week -> 598 hours / 30 hours per week = equivalent of 19.9 full-time weeks. So you would need to work AT LEAST another 32-33 full-time weeks before you are eligible.

Experience has to be minimum for 52 weeks or it can be lower?
MINIMUM of 52 weeks - better to work a few extra weeks to be "safe".
