Hi there folks,
I am an Australian citizen and will be applying for CEC shortly from within Canada, I have some questions that I am looking for some guidance on please?
1. When I have 5 months Canadian work experience under NOC 1221, and 7 months Canadian work experience under NOC 4211, how do I submit this when the CEC application only lets you enter 1 NOC code?
2. Is there a limited quota of CEC applications accepted? When is the best time to submit my application, to avoid applying when quotas are filled?
3. Is CEC assessed against the current pass mark 67 points for PR?
4. Does anyone know when the legislation will be changed from 2 years work experience to 1 year?

Thanks in advance.

Dream :)

Not sure what you mean. Different codes == different jobs (even if the same employer), so they should be listed as separate lines... the form offers 5 lines.... (assuming you're talking about Schedule 8 - Economic Class- CEC)

2. Is there a limited quota of CEC applications accepted?
No. Not at this time, anyway...

When is the best time to submit my application, to avoid applying when quotas are filled?
N/A

3. Is CEC assessed against the current pass mark 67 points for PR?
No, that is for a different program, the Federal Skilled Worker program.

Based on this and your other questions, I'm actually wondering if you're filling out the wrong forms. There are different forms for the FSW and the CEC programs. Start by reading the correct instructions and determining if you actually qualify under the CEC, (One year of employment does not qualify, unless you also earned a degree in Canada...). If you do qualify, download and complete the correct forms...

4. Does anyone know when the legislation will be changed from 2 years work experience to 1 year?
Only Minister Kenney knows, possibly not even him :)

Potential candidates will complete an online Express Entry profile where they will provide information about their skills, work experience, language ability, education, and other details. Those who meet the criteria of one of the federal economic immigration programs subject to Express Entry will be placed in a pool of candidates.

Candidates will be ranked against others in the pool. Only the highest-ranked candidates (those deemed to have the best chances for economic success), and those with qualifying offers of arranged employment or provincial/territorial nominations, will be invited to apply for permanent residence

How long will be the process of ranking.

I am working from April 2013 as casual worker and have part time job as 32hrs/week from March. Is it possible to apply for CEC now as casual hours/week is more than 30.
Another questionL: my work permit will expire in august. If I apply in express entry and my work permit expires, what I have to do?

To be eligible for CEC, one has to work a minimum of 30 hours a week AND for 1 year. One cannot use the extra hours earned to offset the 1 year requirement.

We have no clear understanding of express entry at this point. In my OPINION only, express entry should not affect the regular CEC channel, just waive the requirements of some applicants.

CIC considers 30 hours per week or more to be full-time, so if your letter of employment says you worked 32 hours per week (or "at least 32 hours per week"), then it should be OK, because it sounds like you have worked about 16 months and have worked full-time (by CIC's definition).

If, on the other hand, you worked variable hours (say, 40 hours one week, 24 hours the next, average 32 hours per week), then it is more complicated. You'll have to do week by week calculations - count the number of full time weeks. Then for the part-time weeks, add up the hours, divide by 30, and you'll have the full-time equivalent. If the total of full time weeks + FTE weeks > 52, then you've made it.

Remember whatever you claim has to be supported by letters from your employer, T4, NOA, etc...
