CEC Question: required hours

Hello all, I just have a few questions that I hope you more experienced members will be able to answer for me.

Previously, I was set on applying through BC PNP because I thought it would be faster, but apparently it is not as fast as its supposed to be, and members said I would benefit more applying through CEC.

Currently, my NOC code is 0621 (retail manager/assistant manager) and have been employed since May 8 of 2012. I am a full manager now but did not become assistant manager until sometime around June.

As of now, I have logged in 1018 hours and according to my calculations I am expected to reach 2018 hours by the end of June this year.

So my question is, how strict/stringent is CIC about accumulating hours that are ALL skilled work? Is it possible that my hours of work in May of 2012 don't count for anything since I was not even an assistant manager at the time? I have strong intent to apply as soon as possible however, I want to get everything right in one shot.

If anyone could shed some light on this situation for me, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

To meet CEC requirements, the work must be skilled. If you were a retail clerk or in some other unskilled position, you cannot count the time for CEC requirements.

In case you were not aware, CIC has recently revised the requirements for CEC. You now need one year of full-time employment (not two), so 12 months as an (assistant) manager working 30 hours per week or more. (yes, the definition of "full-time" has changed as well, from 37.5 hours per week to 30 hours per week).

So since I was still In an unskilled position during may and for half of June, would it be advisable to wait until the beginning of august to apply? And in that way I can gain more hours of skilled work?

And considering those rules, I am still required to have 1950 hours of skilled work ontop of the 12 months, am I right?

30 hours per week * 52 weeks is 1560 hours (not 1950 anymore). It's not "on top of" 12 months - both must be true. You must have worked a minimum of 12 months AND 1560 hours. If you work fewer than 30 hours per week, it will take more than 52 weeks.

You can apply any time after you meet the requirements.

So 1560 hours is the correct requirement as of now, with 100% certainty?

As I mentioned,

I started working in May, became assistant manager last June, worked full time hrs as assistant mngr. on June + July (30<hrs/week) but my hours (still skilled NOC) on august and september were part time, and from October up to now I have worked 40hrs per week.

When will be a good time for myself to apply? Anyone know?

Here is where they talk about your work hour requirements.
