I just dont want to be a damper to your happiness but just so that you know CIC processing times are not estimates for the future but are based on how long it took 80% of the cases to be processed within the last year.....in this case it is between June 2012 - July 30, 2013.

Now, does this mean that when they release the statistics for , say, July 2012 - Aug 2013, it will be 12 months - your guess is as good as anyone else's. It can be 12 months or go down to 11 months or even go up to 13 months. These times are only indicative of the past and may not accurately predict future processing times........and now, i am officially the most hated person in this forum. ;D

LOLLLL. No Hopeful you are not the most hated person ....just cuz you are saying nothing but the Truth.
I'll back that up by giving +1 to you.

I completely agree with you. I have been waiting for the past 11 months now. I'm hoping i dont fall into that dreaded 20% whose timelines could be anywhere from 13-infinite months.

just based on stats available today, which is better than last year.
point is things are improving and not getting worse.. so no reason for creating negativity in the environment!!

I agree with you both, telling the facts its not being negative. Another thing to take in account its that, on that time frame CIC stop taking applications for FSW and announce the changes for CEC, because of that the amount of applications received and processed was less. If we take a look to the different track sheets on the web, we can see that for this year the processing time is slowly increasing, on 2012 to get AOR took about 30 days, now is about 50something. But time doesn't stops, so 1 year or 1.5, sooner or later hopefully we will have our PR... waiting patiently...

It is good that things in general are speeding up!!!!
I remember last year it was 14 month, then changed to 13 month (around this time a year ago) , and now it's 12 month...
There is more hope for all of us!!!!
Good luck to all of you, still waiting!!! for me it has been 14.5 month since they received my application, and I am still patiently waiting for MR....
but this decrease in processing times is definitely good news guys!!!

This is crazy. I know my application has chances of rejection because of applying 11 days before convocation. But waiting for 10 or 14 month n getting rejection will be hard on me

hi jes_on,

I dont know if you got a chance to read my other post expressing my gratitude to you for helping me all those months ago when I was a newbie. Your invaluable advice and support helped me so much. I have landed successfully and do credit part of my successful application to your patience and plain-speak.

Again, thanks a ton.

gladaki, I must say that I am definitely in 'the tail of the distribution' of how long it takes to process a case.
Most if not all people on this forum who applied in May 2012 already landed or are in the very final stages. It's just me who had fallen through the cracks.
There is a small chance to be processed for longer, but most applications do get finalized within 12 month, it is true.
And it used to be longer a year ago, and even longer a year before that, so all in all it's good news.
Good luck with your application!!!!
