Well HR does that if u r outland and u need WP to continue postdoc in canada.....so in ur case initially, did HR sent u offer letter and also the employment # something with A#####....as that goes in WP application form, and when u apply for WP, CIC matches ur profile with posted LMIA application from employer side....so HR does that for sure for evrry lmia exemption offer

Its not supposed to be on offfer letter, as i explson below steps:

HR sends contract
U accept,sign n send them back. All ok and wait.
HR applies for LMIA exemption on cic employer portal.
Once cic approves, hr receives offer of employment # generated from employer portal.
Hr shares with u that #.
U fill WP form and insert that # in that form field.
U apply online on cic employee portal.
Cic checks ur docs n match with posted hr lmia exemption offer with that #. All ok..cic issues u WP.

Yes thanks after mar-19, i will have ready the following ones:
New renewal contract
Current employment letter from HR certifying stuff.
Initial 1st yr contract, that wud b expiring in mar-19...

Yes thats cool. make sure to mention anything supportive in your supporting letter.

Sorry, are you talking about the extension offer or the old one, as my scenario was as follow
- i received the offer by HR, i accepted and signed, then i sent it back to the HR
- The HR dealt with contracted immigration firm that used to process different immigration issues for U of T staff.
- The firm applied for me after i provided them with all the required documents
- The firm got the approval from the CIC then sent me to follow up to get my visa
-on landing i got my WP.

Thats all !!

Had u filled any IMM 1295 FORM? as in that form there is a field to insert offer of employment number. U fill that form, upload in online application for WP

In my case same process goes for both old n new, in reply to ur above q.

i have employee number. i got my WP in the airport when i landed.. i remember the firm sent me few applications to fill in and asked me to submit them to the officer in the airport..
it seems things processed between the firm and the HR regarding these details.
Absolutely things went prober as i cant finally get my WP without these being done. Now i will be dealing with the HR myself and will get all the details.

Nice thread guys, i benefited a lot from your all conversations.
PLZ ADVISE according to your vast experience ..
- I am a postdoc in an exempted LMIA by my current offer for two years Feb-2018 - Feb-2020, will finish my first year on this coming Feb-2019. immediately will apply for PR - CEC.
- i just got an extension offer letter for another one year (the third year). starting from Feb-2020-Feb-2021.
- As CIC needs a postdoc to have valid offer for at least one year after getting the PR, so my extension will guarantee that. now My question is, does my offer extension (third year) need a accompanying work permit to be valid? or to be considered by CIC as a guarantee that i have offer for at least one year after getting my PR? or the offer extension letter is enough and the WP to be applied later?
