CEC or FSW?

Hello friends would really appreciate suggestion from you regarding my problem.
I came in Canada as a student and currently on my PGWP. I am working on a part-time basis and my job comes under NOC B.

Before coming here I did my Bachelors and also did work. My job was also under NOC B (1241) according to National Occupational Classification. I can show almost about 3 years of work experience from that job.
Though both of my jobs are under NOC B, still the designations are different.

• My question is can I apply as FSW while I am in Canada or do I have to wait and apply under CEC only?
• If I apply under FSW do I need an LMAI from my employer?
• If I can apply under FSW do I need to show sufficient funds? If yes then how much is that amount?
• Do I need to go for a medical test for applying under FSW?
• Will my Canadian education and work experience count if I apply under FSW?
• What kind of documents do I need to show to prove my experience from back home?
• Also while coming to Canada as far as I remember I did write about my job experience in the Statement of Purpose but I didn't show my IT files. Can this be a problem?

Well I am asking this because if I have to apply under CEC then I will have to wait some more time to get the 1560 hours and since the express entry points is already around 450, I guess if I show my previous experience then I can apply and get into the pool for ITA right now.

You apply through EE. If you are eligible, you will be invited to apply to the program for which you are eligible. (Yes, you can submit your EE profile, and if eligible, apply through FSW). There is no rule that says you cannot apply through FSW if you are already in Canada.

• If I apply under FSW do I need an LMAI from my employer?
LMIA - no, it is not required, but you need one to be considered to have "arranged employment" and get the extra 600 points.

• If I can apply under FSW do I need to show sufficient funds? If yes then how much is that amount?
Yes. This info is on the CIC website.

• Do I need to go for a medical test for applying under FSW?
For all PR programs, yes. This info is also on the CIC website.

• Will my Canadian education and work experience count if I apply under FSW?
Education, yes - work experience, maybe.

• What kind of documents do I need to show to prove my experience from back home?
Letters of employment, contracts, proof of remuneration...

• Also while coming to Canada as far as I remember I did write about my job experience in the Statement of Purpose but I didn't show my IT files. Can this be a problem?
??? Don't understand the question.

Thanks for you reply.

I did ask about the medical test because while coming here as a student i have gone through one test. Just asking whether have to go through it again or not.

I dont know why you are unsure about my work experience over here. Yes i agree its not a full time job but its a NOC B job. If I depend on this job then I will only have to wait more time to apply through CEC.

To come Canada as an international student you need to submit a Statement of Purpose Letter which had to state that why you want Canadian education and your background.(I am not sure this kind of letter still needed or not). So in that letter also I did mention about my work experience. But i dont think i did show my income tax returns back then. Which i guess i need to show to apply under FSW. I fear that CIC doesnt make an issue of this now.

Medicals are valid for one year. If they are more than one year old, then yes, you will have to do it again.

Because if you don't have the equivalent of one year of full-time work (which you say you do not), then you don't get credit under EE. But the system is complicated and if you're going for FSW anyway, it won't make much of a difference.

I expect that it is not relevant.

Ok medicals are valid for an year but what about sufficient funds..i am already living here in Canada for last 3 years, that's why i wanted to get clarified on that.

Here what i got from CIC website

You do not have to show that you have these funds if:

you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.

Okay since my job is part time, i dont have a valid job offer..but i am on PGWP and working & authorized to work in canada so ::)

Well, that's an open question. In the past, CEC applicants did not need to provide proof of funds. But as you know, with the current language, many CEC applicants (like you) would have to provide proof of funds. I hope not, but since the system is new and no one has yet been finalized, no one has the experience to tell you what you want to know.
