Hello Guys,

Question for you,

Every month there will be a draw for EE, and every time CIC authorities will be busy in scrutinizing the application , what is the timeline that we should expect from CIC, to process our old CEC application? I don't know how they'll process in 12 month window, my bowp work permit will expire soon, bummed out seriously.

Thanks,

Seriously? You have 8 posts here and they are all variations on this same theme. People have told you over and over and over that there isn't anything you can do at this point but wait. You can apply for a new BOWP and you are also welcome to try your luck with Express Entry if you think you will get through faster! Nobody here has a secret window into the CIC and can tell you with any certainty when they will process your application.

I've already finished my 5 years of work permit , I don't know if I can apply or not,

Thanks,

1 - Not one draw. There will be 2 draws / month.

2 - Timeline? Haha. I just hope they won't terminate the backlog like they've done with Investor and Business Class applications.

Unfortunately I believe that this is exactly what they are planning.

Well said! Spreading incorrect information such as 'every month there will be a draw for EE' is also bad practice. Each month during Q1 2015 had a different number of draws (e.g. Jan x 1, Feb x 3, Mar x 2).

As I previously wrote:
  • If you would like to try to speed up your app, pay your fees and do your medical up front.
  • If you're worried there's something wrong with your app, apply for your GCMS case notes.
  • If your BOWP is running out, get another one.
  • If you want to feebly predict the processing time, take a look at trackitt.com

The processing time varies massively, which is hardly surprising when it's a paper based system. Absolutely no one can predict how long your application will take to process.

You can apply for another BOWP as long as your PR application is still in progress. There is no "5 years of work permit" with regard to the BOWP.

The criteria are:

Currently be in Canada;
Have valid status on a work permit that is due to expire within 4 months;
Have received confirmation from CIC that their permanent resident application is eligible under one of the four Economic Classes (FSWP, CEC, PNP and FSTP), and;
Have made an application for an open work permit.

If your permit expires in July you can apply now.

That's what I wanted to know brother, because if this processing time keeps delaying its gonna be problem , not only for me but for all of us, but anyways I'll apply for BOWP, and thanks arowberry, you are so kind brother ! ! :)
