I remember seeing someone from July or August
he had both application in process and suddenly his CEC status said withdrawn.
he called and found out that they withdrew his cec because his express entry got approved.

I did see that too. Now Aug thread is gone. The question is, (1) if they withdraw old CEC application after EE-CEC approval then it is fine and logical too. No risk. But if they ask you to withdraw old CEC to initiate the EE-CEC, it is a risk. (2) When I called up CIC front desk, once they indicated me that I can't apply at all for EE-CEC, without pulling out my old CEC application and other times I was indicated that officer will call up and ask which application should be considered. Based on my input - that particular application will be further processed and other withdrawn.

it seems that they are telling you according to their conveniences of work load.
it's less confusing for them if you just have one application for sure.

there is someone from september cec also, applied for EE last month and he already got PPT or something IN A MONTH.
and the agent advised him that he should let them know to withdraw old cec.
you are allowed to keep both but if you ask them, they will tell you what they prefer.

Just a quick QUESTION...guys all I can see when I click on IN PROCESS is THESE 2 Lines

1. We received your application for permanent residence on October 6, 2014.
2. We started processing your application on February 10, 2015.

Is there any one who have got any more updates on beyond these, as I have been looking some have got 3 lines of update.
Not sure if its same or something else on the 3rd line.
Please suggest....
Thanks

Just a quick Reminder....Couple of Weeks back I had called CIC twice same same day..
Initially I started my conversation discussing about my student permit and then I spoke about my CEC filed on October 6th...
One Agent told me that by December Decision made should be updated WHereas other agent told me to wait for more 2-3 month for the Medicals and Other remaining process....Thus I assume We might start getting requests for MEDICALS (OLD APPLICATION NOT UNDER EE) by Start of JANUARY 2016.

As I think they had a quota of giving PR to the applicants filed under old Process for this year is full so they might have stopped processing since then...

Hello All,

I submitted my Express Entry application on 27th October,2015. I received a message from CIC that the profile has been updated. When I checked the status, "A background Check is needed" status had "in progress".

I thought that the process will be a step by step process. I am confused here why they have jumped to the last part of my application. Have you guys gone through the same or if someone can throw some light here please.

ITA received : 11th Sept,2015.
Application Submitted : 27th Oct,2015.
AOR received : 27th Oct,2015.
Application/Profile Status : open.

Yah, I got meds received line couple weeks after I did upfront meds back in Sep end. So three lines in total now in ECAS.

What I ask now is should I pay RPRF upfront too?

I did upfront medical exam for my CEC application. I am an Oct applicant.
The doctor give me an information sheet for e-medical information. They didn't ask me about the UCI number at that time.
How could I let CIC know my medical exam results?

It was just a way to start my conversation....I was looking to get an answer about my CEC status

hey anyone from nova scotia brought a house? Scotiabank told me I had to wait until I get my PR
Good advice.
You will have a huge problem getting a mortgage without PR or 10-20% down payment.
You will also get better interest rates with PR if your down payment is less than 20% - from what I've heard above the 20% they don't care.

I bought a townhouse in Calgary with RBC, with just 5% down payment on my BOWP.

Nice! Congrats!

People at Scotia and TD recommended I wait and/or get 10%+ down payment for best rates and lower fees. Most likely it also depends on income/cost of property ratio - it could be I'm not making enough to get a mortgage on a condo in Toronto with just 5% down.
