That means once I apply for the visitor visa I can stay in Canada even if they do not reply by 3rd March. Reason why I am asking this is that I have already been on implied status till 3rd december because I applied for a new work permit which got rejected

I believe on your reject letter, it should say that you should apply for restoration in 3 months, is that right? that means you need submit your application before March 3rd. if you could submit your visitor application before March 3, you are ok to stay until you got your visitor visa. meanwhile, when you apply for visitor visa, you should also apply restoration.

That sounds good. thanks a lot. I just talked to CIC. They tell me that all files received on or after 21st oct are being sent back. I think LMIA and express entry is my only chance

if you could get LMIA, I really think EE is better and faster than old CEC.

I recieved my AOR today. File reached on10th oct and draft cashed on 31st dec. AOR recieved 12-Feb.

because I didnt have the AOR or PNP. I just did that so that I can stay in Canada for a longer period of time. now I will apply for a visitor visa.

True that. I just need a LMIA from any welding shop or union.

Guys - i received my AOR on 09 Feb 15. So i checked my status online and it states as "In process"... which is good..

Another update that i noticed is the processing time for CEC has come down from 13 months to 12 months which is an encouraging news..

Let's keep our fingers crossed for the Medical invite next..

AOR just received at 7:35 am, Jan 12. NOC 5222. Application filed Oct 10th. CC charged Dec 31.
BIG relief for myself and my son. Guys, wish you ALL luck and hope to see many AORs here.

12 months from point of receiving AOR ? Last year people got PR under CEC within 7 months of receiving AOR. This time count is far less than previous years. Hope they speed up the process, so that they can move to the new system.
