yea hopefully everyone will get an update soon. I think they are really working on them. It updated my account and says that they are processing my background check.

Does anyone know what is the next step after the background check?

So its taking almost 45 days for Medicals to pass since AoR
Maybe 45days. not really sure because some people get theirs early, same time as mine or later. Not really sure when you will get it. So prayers for everyone to get it really soon. But im pretty sure they are processing all applications as soon as they can or else it will pile up. right?

As per seniors’ advices, we will get PPR soon. One member AoR Jan 28 received PPR. He is also a cec inland applicant. If we are lucky, we will get a PPR by email in next 10-20 days. My aor was on Feb 3. BG status changed twice ( NA since AoR -> Your application ... Mar 18-> We are processing ... Mar 21)

When is your AOR?

have you passed the medical exam?

My AOR is Feb 5, and yes, I passed my medicals. On the same day I got a letter requesting a RCMP background check. Funny thing is that my name is very long and not common at all (also I'm South American), so I believe it's extremely unlikely that there was a match in their name based search.

Anyway, I went to my local police office yesterday and got it sorted out. They told me it was gonna be around 10 days to get the results by mail. I just hope this doesn't delay my BOWP application, because my WP expires very soon and I cannot benefit from implied status (I'm on a IEC visa).

well that's funny

regarding your work permit ,I reckon you can apply for bridging WP

my Pgwp will expire soon too ,so i call ircc to find out what i should do

that's what they said(they sent me an email)

Determine your eligibility:

You can apply for a bridging open WP if you:

  • Have applied for PR in Canada as the principal applicant under one of the admissible categories,
  • Have received:
    • the Acknowledgment of Receipt from the processing office, or

    • a positive eligibility assessment on your paper PR application submitted by mail under one of the categories above,
  • Are currently in Canada, and

  • Already have a valid WP that will expire in 4 months or less.
To obtain the WP:

Oh, I've already applied for a bridging WP, but thanks for bringing up this info anyway.

I'm just concerned that this request will delay my bridging WP application (Since they will take longer to review my eligibility...). I'm currently on a IEC visa and therefore, I cannot benefit from implied status. So if the bridging WP isn't approved before my current one expires, I'll have to stop working and will only be allowed to resume when I get the new one.

I've applied for BOWP on Feb 6th and my current WP expires on May 6th.
