Hello,

If a person is studying is Canada:
1. Can their spouse start a business on spousal open work permit?
2. After the person graduates, can they be employed at their spouses firm and use that employment for CEC work experience points?

Thanks

I don't know the answer to your first question. But I feel the second scenario will sure be challenged by CIC and the effort taken to get it approved will be more than the effort to find a NOC 0,A,B job from other Canadian companies after you graduate and apply CEC under that

1. Yes your spouse can open a business
2. IRCC would suspect that you are using your spouse employment company as a means to cheat them into getting PR status so i wouldn't suggest doing that.

Thank you so much for the responses.

Is the spouse allowed to incorporate or just sole proprietorship?
