Hi,

In the Employment reference letter,
should we include brief explanation of the company?

My company is a consulting agency, and just with the company name,
CEC officer may be confused with the type of work we do here.

Company name does not really tell what it is,
so just wondering if its okay to write little bit about the company itself in the employment letter
like a paragraph or 3 lines.

I dont think it will make any difference. If VO has any doubt, he/she will definitely contact your employer. So, as long as your reference letter is on company's letter head with contact information and contains all your duties in detail, it will work.

Thats my understanding but wait for seniors to reply.

Yes, that is useful, esp. if it is not clear from your job duties. That is because there can be different NOCs for similar-sounding work, depending on the type of industry and the kind of work/business the company does. Of course, if you don't have the right NOC code, it's not going to help : )

My Company does not provide detail emplyement reference letter, it just gives salary letter. But I have all the petitions that my company has field to CIC under Company's letter head with deatils about company, NOC & current my responsibilities backed by my qualification... does that help?

If your employer does not provide roles and responsibilities in details, they you should use supporting documents
