Hi Mrawa,

I have the similar situation like your's. one year PGWP with 1yr work experience, I was thinking to apply under CEC class at-least few weeks before my WP expires. Looking forward to hearing any updated form you. Good luck!
You are good to apply once you complete one year of work experience after completing your studies(if any). You shouldn't wait until last few weeks.

Hi,

I know this is an older thread, but am in a similar situation. I studied for an year and received my work permit for an year which is supposed to end in June 2019.
I started my job on the same day of receiving my work permit.

First Question: Is there any way that I can apply for a PR under CEC and stay in Canada until I receive my PR? Or Would I have to go back to my home country?

Second Question: There were a couple of people in similar situation? Did anyone face any problem if they applied under CEC after 11 months of work experience?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, and that way of course is to apply for a new work permit. You can either ask your employer to apply for an LMIA or look into other programs (e.g. IEC programs).

Second Question: There were a couple of people in similar situation? Did anyone face any problem if they applied under CEC after 11 months of work experience?
You are not eligible to apply with 11 months; assuming you get an ITA and apply anyway, you will be refused.

Thanks for your reply.

I was just thinking about if there is a way that I do not have to go back to my home country.

My PGWP will end on the exact day of my 1 year job completion. I don't think I'd be able to get my LMIA done.

So I'm really confused on how should I proceed further.

Thank You.

Probably not, but depends on a couple of things. First, whether you come in under a study permit (no), or a work permit (maybe). Second, if the Canadian university considers you an employee or not...

I have a work permit. The remark of my work permit is postdoctoral fellow award recipient. And the rmploye name is the name of university in the canada.
In your opiniop in my case can I count this as a work experience?

Hi,

In the CIC website for CEC, it is mentioned that '' The “Employment Requirements” listed in the NOC occupational description are not applicable''

Does it mean that '' Employment requirements is not a factor for Pass/Fail under CEC?
i.e - Even a business mgt candidate can do a technical job (0, A, B) and can claim for points under CEC ???

Can someone throw light on this?

Thanks in advance

Well, yeah, post-doc is not the same as doctoral. Yes, you can. : )

Having 1560 of work experience isn't enough - you also need to meet the one year (i.e. 52 weeks) requirement. When did you start working after you finished school? Assuming you starting working full time immediately - a year from that date should be the day you are eligible to claim a year of work experience for CEC.

No - you won't be eligible for a BOWP once you update your profile to include the new work experience. You won't be eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit until you have received ITA (i.e. been selected under Express Entry), submitted your application and received AOR.

Need your assistance.

About me..

  1. Active EE profile with 328 CRS score.
  2. My Age is 43.
  3. Working & living in Ontario for a top MNC as IT Director.
  4. Will complete 1yr of Canadian experience (NOC 0213) in July 2019. I am on ICT work permit (LMIA exempt)
  5. IELTS Score (Overall: Band 8 -- L & W: 7.5, R & S: 8)
Questions:

  1. Can I apply now under OINP (Employer offer or any other stream) without waiting to complete 1yr of Canadian experience?

  2. If yes, under which category of OINP I should apply?

  3. I can get offer letter from employer stating my job will hold good 1yr after getting the PR. Will that add any points to my CRS on account of job offer? If yes, how many?

  4. Do I necessarily have to have Employer form attested from my employer & submit while filing for ONIP (Employer offer stream)? I suspect my employer will not attest employer form. What could be the solution for this?

  5. What are my chances of getting PR invite after completing 1yr of Canadian experience in Jul 2019? How many additional points I will get for Job Offer & Canadian experience?
Looking for urgent reply.

Thanks

Hi! I have a similar situation, but in my work permit, instead of Postdoctoral fellow award recipient, it saw research award recipient. I was in Canada doing part of my PhD research. Do you think this can count for CEC?
