CEC eligibility advice

Hi all,

Just want to share with you the expiry dates of my eligibility for CEC.

I worked in a NOC B role from 1st July 2013 to 12th December 2014. (1 year 5 months)

Working from 12th December 2014 backwards, my year of experience for CEC ran 12/12/13 – 12/12/14.

As of tomorrow, I will not longer be eligible for CEC as I will not have completed 1 year of experience in the last 3 years.

As the EE application only accounts for whole months, my profile will show me to be eligible for CEC until Jan 1st. If I was to receive an ITA after tomorrow (13/12/16), my application will be rejected due to me not being eligible for 1 year of experience in the last 3 years.

To avoid this scenario (although unlikely with my score) I will change my end date for this experience to NOVEMBER 2014. This will make me ineligible for CEC and avoid being given an ITA in error. After Jan 1st I will change it back to December 2014.

For all those concerned about CEC eligibility due to mid month start dates, I recommend you take this action as well.

I'm outland too, not been in Canada since Jan 2015. I'm FSW and CEC applicant

I had also left Canada in March 1st 2015. I have now 457 so it is unlikely to come down by February 2017. Feeling dejected

Been at 440 for 2 years... It's already dropped to 450, you're gonna be fine.

Is your points showing decreased after you updated November as your experience date? One more thing, my birthday was on December 8th so I should have lost 5 points but it is still showing the previous score. Since we supply only Date of birth, there is little that we can do besides deleting the profile and recreating it.

I don't lose points, I am just ineligible for CEC stream.

How old did you turn on 8th?

I have over 10 years of experience.

Please help me understand. what advantage CEC has got over FSW? Is it just that proof of fund is not required in case of CEC..

That's one, but otherwise no advantage.

It just means that CIC would likely have sent an ITA under CEC before FSW. As I am still eligible for FSW I will keep the CWE points, but not be invited under CEC.

As for your age, I guess keep an eye on it being updated.

Got it.. I have to recreate my profile anyways as my profile will turn one year old in a week. Have you maxed out on your IELTS? I can get 10 more points but bored of taking the exam.. have already taken it 3 times.

UK, and I have just retaken my IELTS.

I'm British, but couldn't even get full marks!
L - CLB 8
R - CLB 10
W - CLB 10
S - CLB 10

As my IELTS expires in Jan I have retaken them and now waiting for the results.

Hoping for CLB 9 in listening then I will go to around 470 points. I just find the listening REALLY HARD!

I hope you get that.. I found listening the easiest. I know one finds certain section easy or hard.. I have got CLB 10 in all areas but speaking..

I feel that I could get 10 in speaking next time as I got it in the earlier attempt. But who knows I might lose some point in other sections, so don't wanna take the test again.

It is probably was answered multiple time but "in the last 3" means that you had to work one year in that period of time OR you have 3 year to work for 1 year.
With that being said, my PGWK expires in MAY (3 years work permit) so after that do I or do I not qualify under CEC?

You need to work for a full year in the three years before you apply.

The fact that your work permit expires is irrelevant. You will still be eligible under CEC as long as you have the above.
