Hi,

I have been working in Ontario since November 2013. I will be eligible to apply for my PR in November 2014.I was going through the process involved in applying my PR and i was not clear on the CEC program. i came to know there is a cap for the number of applicants coming through FSW( around 25000 per year ) . Do they have a limit for the CEC as well ? If so, do they have a limit per category ?Also heard the FSW opens during May. This year , so far 500 odd people have applied out of 25000. Read somewhere else the limit is 8000 and 817 people have applied so far.

Could someone give me the difference please ?

Regards,
Savio

FSW and CEC are different program and have different CAPs.

Go in here for CEC CAP.
cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/applications-accepted.asp

For FSWP Here:
cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

Hope this would help.

Thanks.

The link says the cap for CEC is 8000. Does that include both category A and B. I come under category A and the link explains only sub caps for Category B. Please clarify .

All CEC application are subject to 8000 Cap.

NOC 0 and A are subject to 8000 cap only. Sub cap of 200 aplicable to NOC B only.

An excerpt from the link I provided:

"For all other NOC B occupations, we will accept up to 200 applications per occupation. Once we reach the cap, we will no longer accept applications for that occupation. Once CIC receives 8,000 complete CEC applications, we will no longer accept any application for processing, even if there are occupational caps that have not been filled."

Hope this would help.

Thanks. There are about 205 categories in NOC B. Is there a separate allocation for NOC A or is it mostly First come first served basis ?
