CEC - Calculation of Work Experience

Hello Everybody!

I know this question was brought number of times on this forum, but I can't find the answer. What is the date the CIC will use to determine a year of full-time work experience? I submitted my application november 11th without sending my transcripts or diploma as it's not in the list of the required documents.

I graduated in august 2012, convocation october 2012. The PGWP was issued on October 18 2012.

I started working full-time on August 27th 2012 (on OCWP, while I was waiting for PGWP), my employment letter was issued on September 18 2013, and the pay stub I attached is dated October 15th 2013.

If I calculate from the date PGWP was issued - October 18th 2012 to the pay stub date October 15th 2013, these is a gap 3 days. Can this be a potential for rejection?

I worked in the company until november 1st 2013, and that's what I stated in the Economic Class Form - August 27 2012 to November 1st 2013.

Should I send them my last pay stub dated November 1st 2013, once I receive my AOR number? Has anyone ever sent additional documents after their application was issued an AOR number?

Thank you for any support!

They will count from 1st day of PGWP, but people in past got pr with a week less from PGWP. and got rejections for 10 day less. I am not sure if under new rules they will count from ocwp..wait for what senior has say

Thanks for the answers guys!

Do you know if cic calculates time based on the time frame mentioned in Schedule 8 "Experience Class"?

The point is that my reference letter was issued in mid of September but I worked until 1st of November. What documents can I submit to show that I actually worked until 1st of November?

Your reference letter should cover all of the experience you need to qualify, in terms of dates. In some cases, applicants have been refused because they got the letter too soon, and VOs used the date at the top of your letter as the "end date" for calculating your experience.

You included an extra paystub, not sure if that will help, because it is not proof of the job duties you performed. The BEST thing to do is get a new letter that covers your full employment period. If THAT is not possible, get a copy of your Record of Employment (ROE) from service Canada and submit that, and hope for the best.

In order to make the work experience of 1 year(as I'm 10 days short), which is the better option for me > either I should withdraw my application (if I will get my whole application package back) and reapply again when I get new letter from employer with the latest pay stubs Or should I send the new letter from employer and pay stubs to CIC, once I get my AOR/file# ?

You can't "add" experience after you apply, you can only clarify.

You mean, 10 days short if you calculate from the date your PGWP was issued? But did you start working before then? When did you graduate? I don't know enough details about your case, but the gap between graduation and receipt of the PGWP was a bigger source of confusion before the rule-change this year.

Like if it bacame any clearer after the new changes. I think it is still ambiguous.

Do they calculate experience since the graduation date?

I graduated on Aug 2012 and started working from Oct 15, 2012 to Nov 20,2012 on Off campus WP and since Nov 21, 2012 I am working on PGWP. The letter which I got from my employer is dated Nov 4, 2013.
If they are not including work under OCWP in 1 year Work experience then I'm short by some days.

Just to be safe you should start counting from the later of 1) degree conferral date and 2) PGWP issuance date.

I agree that it is still ambiguous, it says one thing in one place, and something different in another. But if deepiseeks is refused for that reason, you could cite the instructions that support your application and have grounds for appeal. I've seen quite a few of these cases accepted on appeal.
