Hi All,

Yesterday when i called CIC, the agent told me that my eligibility is passed, medicals passed, criminality passed, but security check not started
. And my 6 month mark is on 1st Feb. Does anybody have any idea how much approx time will it take to get PPR?

I am in the same boat but my security started since mid-Dec and still the same. Now, Security screening thoughts are killing me
I hope we all get ppr before our six month anniversary

From what I've heard, unless you have ties to an extremist or hate group, you should easily pass security screening. If you've passed eligibility then you pretty much have been approved

this happened with me for criminality check it was in progress from october around 3 months. Hope my security checks don't same take time

Call 1-888-242-2100 and use option 3-4-1-0 to bypass the voice prompts. I call around 10am - 11am and have always got through

does it have any impact if call the agent frequently? i have called them last week and this week i have a ghost update without having any change in my actual status.

the point is if I should be calling them again or this is too frequent to call them. I dont want unnecessary hasstle because of my anxiety.

Calling the agents won't affect your application in any way although they may get annoyed if you call too often. I've only called to update my details as we changed address, then I asked about the status while I had them on the phone

I called CIC today regarding the ghost update. The lady was so reluctant to say anything on my application. Just told that application in progress and you will get an email once they request for passport. Its so frustrating. Applied for ATIP notes 1.5 months back, no notes yet.

Yes that was my first ghost update.

Day before the ghost update on Jan 14, 2018: Eligibility recommended passed, Medical passed, Criminality in progress, Security hasn't been started.

Today the lady from cic did not say anything about criminality checking, just told me background check is going on.

I might be wrong, but most probably your criminality is completed. That's what it was about. Security won't take as much time, as Criminality did. So you may get good news soon. Phone agents are always reluctant about almost everything. Don't worry at all.
I got my PPR exactly one month after my first and only ghost update. So keep looking.
