Hey guys,

I have a question about the landing process,

When you asked to sign the COPR they ask you "Have you ever been charged/convicted of a crime or offence,refused admission to Canada or required to leave Canada"

So my question is, if I had two speeding tickets back when I was living in Canada, do I need to tell this to the immigration officer?
Does speeding ticket is a crime/offence?

I'm about 99.95% sure that speeding tickets do not count, but perhaps wait for someone to confirm the other 0.05% first...

Here you go - if your car has been caught by a Road-rule enforcement camera, and a speeding ticket has been sent to you by mail, the case is a civil one against assets “moving violation”, your car is assumed to be driven by any other driver including you, and the ticket contains 2 options, appeal or fine payment.
By paying that fine, no charges will be recorded, and nothing will be shown on your driving record.
However, if you have been pulled over by a patrol “police officer” due to over speeding, the ticket will target your name and your driving license, and point’s penalty will apply, also you will be recorded for that.
How deep will that affect your immigration criminal background check depends on whether you have been plead guilty “if you have challenged the ticket by attending court case for that purpose” and you’ve been found guilty.
The latter case will be recorded and shown in your criminal background checks.

So if the speeding tickets is for speeding under 50 km/h, I don't need to tell that to the immigration officer?

a little suggestion for all waiting for ppr. i saw this happen with this other person also. he called the call center .. they checked his file and told him that everythings complete they are just waiting for VO to approve file.. and same day he got his ppr.. i called on friday and the agent said the same and i got ppr the next day. So theres no harm in calling and trying.. when the agents chk file its possible they move the file forward as its complete or it somehow gets active. not a guarantee it works but worth a shot .

I took your suggestion and called CIC today. The lady told me 'my file is waiting for a final review by a VO, everything else looks good'. I asked her whether she can poke a VO to look at my file and she said no she cannot before July 28.

Congratulations! Now the waiting list is shorter and shorter.

How long do they take? Lawyer has already reached out CIC for change of address and visa office change.
It's been a day they have not responded

Havent heard this one before but from my understand it could be something like them sending u a few request like pcc or rcmp or background form and maybe cancelling one of the requests as its no longer needed and asking officer to determine. If u can elaborate on where exactly ot said that we can maybe understand better

Can you kindly let me know which number you called, I am only getting the message "We are currently experiencing high volume".

Even i called cic couple of days ago, but they didn't answer well.
can you please give an idea, what should i ask them? i am Sep 1 applicant and get my medical done Feb 25, 2016. and get RPRF in March, but no updates after that.

what question you ask them?
cuz if we ask them for current updates, the answer is always same, "you will get notified if there will be any update".
and they reply rude.
