CEC - August 2014 application

Hi All,

I am calling the number 1-888-242-2100 to book an appointment with CIC for landing. I am not getting an option to talk to agent or landing option. The only option close is PR Card.

Can you please suggest.

I called CIC asking to book the appointment without having my passport/copr, the agent almost did it. But I told him I am waiting for docs, then he said to book after I receive them. Maybe I shouldn't have told him that so that I can get one booked right away...

Anyway, this agent told me the current waiting time in Calgary for landing is 3 weeks.

What did they ask you for booking the appointment in Calgary? Did they tell you how long the waiting time is?

Ihave just called they told me 4 months more from today they can look into the file.

I spoke to the agent and they told me that Calgary service Canada office will get in touch with me in next three weeks for the appointment. It would be next week as well. It seems he does not have their schedule and it is up to the Calgary office about the next availability for the appointment. He also told me that I may get call from the Calgary office anytime.

I am thinking of going to Carway border this weekend if I do not hear anything by this Friday.

To book the appointment, they just asked my UCI number and number of dependents. However, he asked me if I have received COPR or not. You do not require your passport for booking appointment.

I called them today and they looked into my file. So I guess it depends if the agent is nice or not. Didn't get any useful information though..

Seems like the agent with whom you talked was not willing to answer you..

Did he say anything about the processing times? Yes, it's always a matter of luck whom you talk to. Usually, I was lucky. This was a first.

Mostly they look into your file and check review completed by date which is usually 60 or 90 days from the last updated date.

So they say that call after 2 or 3 months..It does not means overall processing time has changed.

I know, this is what surpirses me, because usually they pick up the file after so-and-so many weeks again and again. She was however explicitly referring to the processing times and told me, at the moment, it reads 18 months on the webpage, but it's 21. So this is confusing. Especially, if your application is complete and you are actually just waiting for the final steps. Not sure what is going on. Probably in a long queue. Wait...

Today I got rprf request. I have a question, when cic sends passport request do they specify where to send passport. I'm currently in Canada and spouse is in India. Do they specify in the email that spouse has to send passport in their country.

Is this normal, is it so they can send out COPR?
