And also CIC website has been confirmed that 'Processing times tell you how long it took Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to process applications in the past after receiving a complete application package. Processing times can vary, depending on how many applications CIC receives. Your application may be delayed if it’s not complete.'

Is it means 16 months from application received at CIO or CIC Ottawa office?

Kiranmayi everything depends on immigration mood.....wat is applicable n when.... Bcs everybody has different answer......lets c whn our destiny wake up.....

The processing time webpage has been revamped and you now have to select which visa you applied for.
CEC before 2015 now says 16 months, which, of course, is also not 100% accurate, but it's an update at least.

anyone got the notes recently?

Hi poiuy,

Unfortunately CIC did not prepare well for the transition from CEC to Express Entry, and got them caught in a between the 2. I believe they have slowly resumed working on our applications and I got my medical requested 2 weeks ago. and another member on here mentioned that there were 2 other requests according to Trackit.

After all, every thing slows down during Christmas and New Year, Hopefully the 2nd week of Jan every one will resume work and we can all see a faster movement in process.

Don't be too much hopeful this year either as the Canadian Government decided to take 50,000 Syrian refugees instead of 25,000. Currently they are targeting to finish the first 25k by Feb 2016 and the second 25k thereafter. And, who can say that CIC won't increase our application processing time to 18 months or 2 years in near future? CIC will just work on other so called priority items and continue to push our processing times accordingly.

Before passing negative comments i suggest you get some facts instead of putting everyone down. I spoke to my lawyer and also a few cic agents and they all said that the syrian refugee program doesnt clash with our files. They have seperate workers to work on the syrian refugees. Our application and processing time only clashes with express entry. Anyway were at a point in time where we dont know whos righr or wrong. Lol but just saying what i heard and from an official source apparently.

AGREED!

No one can assume their personal processing times according to everyone else's. There are people who applied in September 2014 who have already started receiving their COPR in the mail, and there are people who applied in July/August who are still waiting for medicals. It all depends on each individual case and if you supplied all the correct information and documentation. My boyfriend and his friend applied on the exact same date in September 2014. His friend called immigration 2 weeks ago looking for updates and they gave him the run around like usual and gave him a hard time making it seem like there was a problem with his application, then low and behold a week later he received his COPR in the mail and landed yesterday, which means his was processed in 16 months, and my boyfriend is still waiting for his papers in the mail *fingers crossed they come this month*. After reading posts on the forum, I have learned that it is even possible to receive COPR while your status online still shows in process, so don't go by just what the website says. Calling immigration does nothing but frustrate people more. Stop getting yourselves and everyone else worked up with "assumed" information. Processing times at the moment are 16 months, that was updated on December 23, until it changes to 18 months, like everyone is assuming it will, just stay positive and hope for the best!

I am quite sure, we will see our files getting updated by the start of next month. We just need to be positive.

So basically they will send out the MR on the same day when eligibility was passed. Seems you are the only one in August get MR recently which means they do not process any August applicants in the last 2 months.

Regarding BOWP:
"Foreign nationals in Canada who have received a positive determination of eligibility for processing decision under the CEC, and whose current temporary resident work permit is due to expire, may require facilitation that enables them to maintain their status and continue working in Canada while they await a final decision on their application for permanent residence."

Eligibility for processing != Eligibility for PR.

This is fragment from Instruction for processing CEC applications submitted prior to Express Entry. Keep your thoughts positive :D
