I'm so fricking pissed. My husband called me telling me of the email he got and I started crying because finally things were looking up and then I get in the forum and I just feel like crying all over again but of frustration. What a way to get our hopes up for nothing. I still have the hope that is an actual update and not an error.

dont cry, just call CIC and get the truth out

It seems not everyone recieved it though.

Then check for the authentication of the email....and confirm from CIC about the email address from which email is coming is correct..

Guys I hope these requests are legit.

I think due to downfall in Canadian economy government needs to generate some resources, so may be they are generating money from our fees

but the situation we are in now, this is a big joke : i can definitely call them , but having a hard time framing up the right question for those agents. i want to get a correct answer from them. i can't just call and tell them that many people received the request, as they might come back asking "which people" :

I got my RPRF requested 10 days ago, I paid and sent the receipt same day.

Yeah, certainly you have to be specific about your question.

I haven't got it so couldn't call them but I am going to call my lawyer and ask about this. Please share if you get some response.

Maybe that's the glitch in the system that generates RPRF email for people who ordered GCMS notes before.
I, myself once ordered GCMS notes before and got the RPRF email today!
Maybe something wrong with GCMS database! hope that's not the case though!

I have never ordered GCMS and got the RPRF anyway. I paid it all upfront though with my application.

And I ordered both a copy of my physical file and my notes but still didn't get the email...
