Hi All,

Once you receive COPR, will there be any delay in getting PR cards if we do the landing through near by service Canada ? I heard that landing in Airport will take less time to get PR cards when compared with service Canada.

I am not sure if this is true. Whoever had done their landing, can you please suggest us ?

- First point you never do landing at Service Canada. It is Immigration Canada.
- Not true at all. Think about it when you land at any airport or land border your documents are verified by CBSA (Canada Border Security Agency) which will then forward your application to Immigration Canada. While when you land at a local immigration office then there is no such transfer delay.

Still nothing on our end, they asked for some additional informations, as they got problems grasping the idea of that when a active Soldier gets sent to a war zone he doesnt go on Holiday there, and def no Goverment in place at the time, so how the heck would he get a Police record check from that country.
Its all covered through the Millitary Police ect, which they have the proper paperwork of anyway.
Cant remember who it was, but advised regarding an health insurance to tie us over till we get our PR.
I was told World Nomads, but no they wouldnt do it in our case.
I am beyond ******* with that CIC Operator who gave us wrong informations. Could still have a WorkVisa and Alberta Healt ect.
Lets just hope and pray nothing happens.
Rant over

Wow. I don't know from which country you are, but let's say, you served the US Army, wouldn't you have been considered to be on "American soil" while you were stationed at their base no matter which country you were in? Get in touch with the army and ask what you can do. They should know how offices work in foreign countries. Even better, they might be able to write an explanation of the duties you performed which did not allow you to have much of a vacation or leave and also include positive feedback about you and your work.

British Military in this case, like i said before he has provided everything from the countries he has been stationed in and also his Military Police record check from when he joint up till he left the Military and covered all OP Tours.
Our Immigration Officer is on the case, she wasnt happy about it either, she sent them a 'nice' letter.
We just have the bad luck of getting a person at the CIC who has no clue.

Hey Guys,

Any one heard of or know if you can collect your passport from CIC in Ottawa rather than them sending it back?

Thanks in advance!

I used an immigration consultant for my application. I have decision made. Does anyone know if I receive COPR in the mail or does it go to my consultant? Thanks
Your consultant will get a 'Ready for VISA' email which requests your passport, photograph and a copy of ready for VISA email. CIC will then in two weeks will send you your passport and COPR
