well i selected option 2 for 2nd bowp n it was approved too last month
It might be approved but the text itself is not relevant .

"An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer" Means that this is the first time u r applying for a work permit or if you had an old work permit restricted to your old employer and now you have a new employer hence you want a new work permit based on your new employer.

In case of BOWP : We already have a work permit and we are applying for Bridging Open Work Permit hence its not attached to any employer.

So Option 1 is most suitable.

I dont deny that CIC has approved your work permit even with Option 2, but the immigration people dont follow any standard rules, they may approve 1 but reject the other application even if everything is same, so we should go with what most relevant rather than what someone else did and got approved.

like the other ppl have said as well it doesnt really matter ..BOWP is considered to be an Open WP where you can work with any employer...not necessarily with the one that you are working with now...even I chose this option..

buy yeah whatever makes u happy! :) i was jst giving my 2 cents mate

Good Luck !

Here are some of the other fields that may be confusing :

DETAILS OF INTENDED WORK IN CANADA
1. a) What type of work permit are you applying for : Open Work Permit.
2. Under : Details of prospective employer
a) Name of the employer : "BRIDGING OPEN WORK PERMIT - EMPLOYER NOT APPLICABLE"
b) Complete address of employer : "NA"
3. Under: Intended location of employment in Canada : Select your province and city you are currently in. For Address Field: "Not Applicable"
Leave the rest of the fields (4,5,6 & 7) blank .

Cheers !!!

Please advise!!!

I got my medical request on February 25th, did medical exam with Dr. kuhlman on March 3rd. Yesterday I received an email from cic stating that they haven't received my medical results yet. I called the doctors office and the assistant was not very sure of the situation. So, she said that I might have to come back to do more tests. She has booked me for March 24th. I'm very worried why I have to go back and why haven't they sent the results yet. I had 30 days for the medical to be done with. Please guide!!

Do you have the E-Medical IME sheet from the day you did your medical test? The first thing you want to do is email CIC back, attach that document as your proof that you have indeed done your medical and it is the doctor's fault that your medical was not uploaded.

Also, the CIC medical request says that you have to do the medical exam within 30 days of the email. It is not your responsibility on how long the doctor takes to upload your result even if you do it on the 29th day.

Thank you so much for your timely response. Yes I did send them that emed paper. But I'm not sure what happened with the clinic and why are they calling me back. That's what I'm concerned about right now. I seemed like the secretary was not very sure what was happening with my results. So she scheduled me to come to the clinic.
