I sent this letter to the MP rep in my city and she told me that CIC is missing a stage in the processing of our application. she said they are supposed to request for our passport prior to the interview instead of asking us to come with it to the visa office in Vancouver. Please kingdly read the email below and let me know what you think. I will appreciate your prompt advise.

Its also a good sign as CIC has reached to the final determination of the process. Just follow up their email, you should be fine.

Did you order GCMS notes? You could have got a hint why VO called for an interview.

I received my Passport back today with immigrant visa and confirmation of PR letter. But it is stated on the letter "NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL",

I wanted to go to my homecountry before landing, that is I am planning to leave Canada with my passport and COPR and come back to canada staying in my homecountry for a month and Re-enter Canada. Is it ok ?

Thnaks!

PS : I am leaving Canada on 7th March and planning to comeback for landing after a month.

When it says "not for travel", I think it only means, you cannot cross the border with it multiple times and cannot use it like a visitor visa or any other visa. It's not a visa, it's a confirmation to pick up your PR at a border. I think, you would be fine going to your home country and then you will activate your PR when you come back at the border. I think, it has a validity date on it, but correct me, if I am wrong there. A friend of mine was on vacation in her home country when she was waiting for the COPR to arrive in Canada. She simply had it then printed out at the border at the Canadian airport and received her PR.

yes you can, as long as it is valid (expires in one year from the completed date). no need to pay twice.

Okkk just logged on to check status and only my home address is listed as opposed to both home and mailing. Am I being paranoid??? haha. Usually there are two boxes, with each address :/
