Hi everyone,

I got my ready for visa email on Friday, Feb 26th.
So glad to have finally received this much awaited email.

Please guide if I should land at US Border (niagara) if I do not have a valid US visa?
Or would you recommend booking appointment with inland landing office?

US Visa process is really more detailed than Canada, in a section when u apply for US Visa where it asks : Have you ever been refused an entry to US ? If you go to US border and get a refusal. you'll have to say Yes to this question and then give details why and when it happened, US Visa officers are just looking for an excuse to refuse ur Visa, I would not recommend that, Im definitely planning to do landing within Canada by booking appointment with a Visa officer, Also someone posted on this blog long time back that in Ottawa there is a Service Canada office which has specific days each month where people can go to complete their landing without an interview, dont know how true it is but I will try n find the details once I get my PPR. See if you can get more info on that one. Try not to go to the border and get a refusal from US even if its for Landing. As people do get approvals after a rejection but every case is different and why to get a refusal anyways. Rest is upto u. if you find anything abt the landing in Ottawa Service Canada plz post on this forum, I'll post if I find something.

Looks like most people are getting PPR first, but I am from visa-exempt country and I think we generally get DM first then COPR in the mail.

Based on ppr requests we shud not trust on GCMS notes bcs my friends gcms notes says nothing has been started and he gt ppr requests

RCMP request question.

August 18th applicant (app received)
Medicals completed and RPRF paid upfront. Received RCMP request on 15th Feb 2016.

How long does it take for RCMP to send results to CIC? The website says 3 days but just wanted to see whether people in the forum saw similar timeline.

I completed my RCMP request at an accredited fingerprint office (Safran Morpho Global ID Services) on 17th Feb, 2016. They confirmed that RCMP will send it directly to CIC.
So now I am not sure whom to follow up with. Should I email RCMP to ask if they sent it or CIC if they received it.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

RCMP will send the results in 1 weeks. At max only 2 weeks will be taken.
You can call CIC after two weeks ask them if it has been received.
