Yes, submit a copy of your birth certificate and national IDs. Yes, check box 12 since you will submit a birth certificate.

If any form is not applicable, write "N/A" in the box.

Hi irishinCanada. i was on holiday. sorry took so long to reply.
My manager fought with LMO but he failed. MLA stands for member of legislate assembly. anyways, MP/MLA are politicians who can help residential people in community.
i already told you that it is hard to extend working permit without following rules. anyways, its worth appealing to LMO. just try.
but what is your plan B? plan C?
MP/MLA might be able to help for PNP. I am in BC so i dont know about ON.
my problem was i bought a house during working under work permit, so when i got rejection of work permit, i got to sell my house and leave Canada right away. so my plan B was to get visitor visa to just stay. Plan C was applying for PNP.
anyways, IrishinCanada what do you have to do? if you got extention of work permit, its good. do you want to apply for visitor visa in case? tell me what you want to do.

I've emailed my local councilor and Member of Parliament to at least make them aware of the issue that the CEC currently presents to people who have maintained a working relationship with an employer and wish to continue working while the application is processed.

My plan B is also to get a visitor visa for at least 3-6 months and remain in Canada, then return to Ireland and wait out the rest of the time there. I don't want to go down the PNP route as I simply don't have the time or the inclination to go through another long residency process. Lets see how it all goes I guess.

It is for all applicants - it reads, "you must provide the following for you and your spouse or common-law partner":

If you do not have a spouse or common-law partner, you would provide documents that are applicable to you like birth certificate, national IDs, family/household registry/book, etc.

People who are married or in common-law would have to provide all the documents. Hope this helps.

Ok. i see.
Since my work permit expired, i can not make any money, my company benefit was terminated. and also i have to pay my mortgage as well. its really painful. if you are confident to get working permit in 2-3 month, thats fine. but if you have to wait more than 3 month, i would recommend to apply for PNP. i am in BC and it will take 2 month to be a nominee in BC plus if MP/MLA cooperates, it may be faster and your work permit is secure till you get PR. cost money though.
anyways, Good luck IrishinCanada. hope things are going well man. i pay for you!

Just to update everyone, or anyone in a similiar scenario, I have an appointment to discuss this issue with Olivia Chows assistant to see how they can assist me with this. I'm not sure if there is anything they can do, but bringing it to their attention will surely highlight how flaky the process is surrounding the CEC process.

Does anyone have any questions or issues they would like me to escalate at the time? Also, how long realistically am I looking at waiting in relation to the CEC application?

That's awesome. I believe Olivia Chow is an NDP immigration critic, can't think of a better advocate. Not speaking from personal experience, but I keep up somewhat with her comments on immigration matters and she's someone I would want as an advocate. :)

I think the current processing time is 15 months, but who knows with the closure of the Buffalo office how long it will be? I think the best thing an applicant can do is ensure submit a complete and thorough application the first time. This minimizes delays.

I've been monitoring the CEC forum and it seems that people who applied in December and January already got their PR. Isn't that correct ? It seems more like 7~8 months not 15.

Check people's timeline in this topic, start from the last page.

Of course things might have changed since december, but I find it hard to change from 7~8 months to 15months

WOW. That's pretty good news, however haven't they closed the Buffalo office since? Are you waiting on CEC also?

Yeah, I was pretty excited when I found out that CEC applications are moving so fast, I always expected it to be 15 months as it says on the CIC website, but that information is probably not reliable as I remember it indicating 15 months for a VERY long time.

It is true that the Buffalo office closed, I'm not sure how that will affect application processing times, who sends it to Buffalo anyways ?
If you are in Canada why would you ever send it to Buffalo, don't most people send it to Ottawa (CPP-O) ?

I will be completing 1 year of work experience in September, that's when I will send my Application. I still have a few things left like translating documents, and doing the English test.
