I requested it on Sep 10th, still haven't received the notes.

When I called on Aug 16th I was told everything was passed, just waiting for final decision.
Nothing since then..

Do they provide information when we call them now? Coz last time when I called, they said they are not providing any information coz of Afgan crisis.

I'm not too sure to be honest. I guess it depends on the agent you reach.
I heard of some people who called and were able to get updates.
