Hello, I have a quick question,

I applied under the CEC program with an LMIA and permanent contrat (I think I must have 780points).
I receive 0 points for my education because I don't have a canadian degree, and I fill my application saying that I got an high school degree from france and no ECA.
So far so good, I don't care having points for my education. But they request me to provide my degree. I just give them my copy with no ECA. On the website, they say that , CEC applicant don't need to have an education (it's just to have more points).
Will my application get rejected? I know two of my coworkers just sent their diplomas with no ECA last year and got PR, but I wonder if things change this year?

I am a little bit worry cause I got my PR app rejected twice lol It's my third try..

cheers

As far as I know it is not mandatory to do ECA for CEC.. when you will compete your Education history details, just make sure you indicate you do not have an ECA for the degree you are listing each time

As long as you have correctly stated that you do not have an ECA for this degree and you have not received any points for it, you are fine. Just make sure you upload the original degree certificate. I assume it is in French, so you don't even need to provide a translation for it.

Just to clarify: ECAs are mandatory for any foreign degrees that you want to receive points for. So for example, a CEC candidate who wants to receive points for their foreign degree must provide an ECA. For OP, this doesn't matter because he/she has enough points without it.

What is true though is that there is no education requirement for CEC, so you can just choose to not include your education and consequently you won't need an ECA (but won't receive any points either). That is different for FSW, where you must have at least a high school degree to be eligible. This pretty much makes an ECA mandatory for all FSW applicants without a Canadian degree if they want to be accepted in the pool. They don't have a choice.

Hi,
Looks similar question as mine,

I am CEC inland and applied PR with 600 points from my LMIA and rest from education etc. Total points achieved 962, cutoff was 564 at the draw.

LMIA Job offer = 600 points
International Degree= 120 Points
Other Points = 242 Points(Job experience, age, etc)
Total = 962

Due to my ECA is showing not valid in my GCMS notes(the ECA done in 2013 which I submitted shows not valid). What will be the points I will be loosing if officer will recalculate my points?

Am I loosing only 120 points or I will be loosing 600 for my LMIA as well(because my LMIA shows required College diploma)?

Please share your thoughts.

Thank you!

CEC doesn't required degree, yes, some jobs needs some education qualifications but its not mendatory at all. I think you wont lost 600 points of LMIA and if they take away the 120 points still you will be OK to get PPR...!!

Good Luck

We didn't get ECA's done for either of our certificates (we couldn't find my husbands one so couldn't even upload the original!!!) and we got PR in May.
