Hello friends,

I have got my IELTS score as below:

Listening 7
Reading 6
Writing 6.5
Speaking 6

Could you please help me in understanding what are the equivalent CLB score and also whether the above IELTS scores are good for applying under CEC for category 2175 (Web Developers)?

Thanks in advance

Ganesh

I have almost the same question:

Listening:7.0
Reading: 7.0
Speaking:4.5
Writing:4.5

Overall:6.0

Does it qualify under CLB 5(NOC-B) ?? On the chart they do not have score 4.5 nor higher than 6.5 for reading...

I don't know how to convert?

Thanks

Hi Ganesh,

Since your NOC is 2175, you fall under category A. Hence, below are the CLB equivalents for your score.

Listening 7
Reading 7
Writing 8
Speaking 7

The requirement is that,
"If you have qualifying Canadian work experience at Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A of NOC, your test results must match the CLB/NCLC below (see chart):
7 or higher for each of the language abilities, or
6 for any one of the language abilities, 7 or higher for any other two of those abilities and 8 or higher for the remaining ability"

So, you are qualified to apply for CEC. All the best!! :)

Hi Torap!

How did you convert the scores?

Can you help with this:

Listening:7
Reading:7
Speaking:4.5
Writing:4.5

for NOC - B 7284

Thanks in advance!

Hi Islington, Your 4.5 is a bit confusing. Not sure whether they round it to 5.0 or 4.0. If they round the 4.5 to 5.0, you will be qualified.

Seniors, could you please help with this.

These are my scores below. I am applying cec under skill level B: i wonder if it is okay to apply with these?

listening 5.0
Reading 5.0
Writing 5.5
speaking 7.5

overall score 6.0...

Unfortunately, when equalizing test results, scores are rounded down not up. e.g. for a test score of 4.5, the CLB is 4 not 5. See page 6 of 24: www.cba.org/cba/cle/pdf/CraigN.pdf

See the corresponding CLB levels in navy(below). For skill level B, you need 4 in one ability, 5 or higher for any other two of those abilities and 6 or higher for the remaining ability. Unfortunately, your results don't qualify, so consider re-taking the test.

Thanks Senorita Bella, hwever I found this on the link you provided:

If most of work experience is classified at Skill Level B, must show meet the requirements for level 5 (can have 4, 5, 5, 6). IELTS - 7.0 = 8, 6.0 = 7, 5.0 = 6, 4.5 = 5, 4.0 = 4

Under my understanding IELTS 4.5 =5 CLB, IELTS:7.0=8 CLB Which means to qualify to CLB 5 you need 4,5,5,6 CLB and my husband got 5,5,8,8...

Someone please clarify as it means a LOT in this case.

THANKS!

Unbelievable! Contradictory information in the same article...crazy!!! ::) I don't know which is right at this point....check with the CIC call centre. It would be nice if the cic website clarified this table.

Hi!!

I just talked to a CIC agent....He didn't have any information regarding score 4.5... Isn't his crazy????A contradiction in their document and now this....So there is nobody who could tell me if score: 4.5 /4.5/ 7.0 an 7.0 would qualify under Noc B....

Is there anyone who was in the same situation and got approved or refused????Please help...This thing is bothering me...

To clarify, that document is not a CIC document...it was written by a lawyer. It doesn't seem to be helpful now due to the contradiction. It appears no one is really sure what's right so it's probably a good idea to ask an immigration lawyer.
