Your Q is not clear to me. I believe you are asking your IELTS score equivalent in terms of CLB

If so,

Listening 6.0 = CLB= 7
Reading 7.0= CLB= 9 & above
Writing 6.5= CLB= 8
Speaking 7.0= CLB= 9 & above

According to your IELTS score your absolutely eligible (in terms of language requirement) under 0, A and B NOC classes

Below link would give you more info

Thank you very much for the reply.

I am applying for FSW program. And yes, I am trying to find out the CLB value of my IELTS Score. I was not sure that how my score will be evaluated according to CLB system. I was curious to know that whether individual band score will be evaluated or it will be evaluated on overall band. From your reply I can understand that each band will be scored separately. Therefore my point for language section (out of 24) will be as follows

Listening 6.0 = CLB= 7 ..................... 4 point
Reading 7.0= CLB= 9 & above............ 6 point
Writing 6.5= CLB= 8......................... 5 point
Speaking 7.0= CLB= 9 & above .......... 6 point
Total 21 (out of 24).

It is right?

Thank you.

hi,

My IELTS score is S (7.0) L(7.0) W(7.5) and R(7.0). now my question is that what is my CLB Score overall?

Please help...thanks in advance.

Hi gian.grewal,

your ielts score is good for CEC just make sure it's not older then two years by the time cic receive your application.

thanks for the quick reply..

as the cap limit has already reached for my profession and now I am looking for PNP. In that if CLB level is 8 or higher in that case i am eligible for the 20 points or else i will have settle for 18 points.

as per the cic website they say that IELTS 6.0 is CLB 7.0 and also the 7.0 band is equivalent to CLB 7.0. This has created a doubt in my mind...

Guys, I believe CIC is very clear with this. I do not understand why this is even brought up.

If you gained your skilled work experience in Canada in a NOC 0 or A job, you must meet the minimum level of CLB 7 in either English or French for all four language abilities.
- It means. ALL FOUR LANGUAGE ABILITIES (not one or two or three but all four (4)) should have an equivalent of CLB 7 (Thus, CLB 7 in READING, CLB 7 in WRITING, CLB in LISTENING and CLB 7 in SPEAKING).

If you gained your skilled work experience in Canada in a NOC B job, you must meet the minimum level of CLB 5 in either English or French for all four language abilities.
- Same here. It means. ALL FOUR LANGUAGE ABILITIES (not one or two or three but all four (4)) should have an equivalent of CLB 5 (Thus, CLB 5 in READING, CLB 5 in WRITING, CLB in LISTENING and CLB in SPEAKING).
