Its strange that you got a response to the webform, I have been waiting for over a week and have not heard back anything so far. other threads suggested that they take around a month to get back to you.
That's not me my friend. I checked in another thread and I gave credit to the guy who shared that email in forum post.

I wanted to post this from another thread on this forum :

IF you file two PR applications, the one filed later will be placed on hold until a decision is made on the first one or it is withdrawn. This is done to avoid duplicity of work.

Also, filing a new application will not expedite it or guarantee that it will be processed faster. The new public policy is just another pathway for PR.

The post is here :https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/thank-you-legalfalcon.408185/page-892

I think those who already have a current CEC application under process and also want to apply under the new pathway may want to check if there is any impact / advantage of a second application.

Even today there was a CEC draw and IRCC wants to help those in Canada to have a pathway to apply for PR. The new pathway I think should be for those that cannot apply under the other options available. I hope IRCC clarifies this and helps everyone make an informed decision.

@itspossible9 any idea about this?
I think it really doesn't matter if you are applying under international graduate stream and your course was 16 months or longer. If you have done two courses then combined duration for courses must be 16 months.

Refer to the below rule

  • a degree, diploma, certificate, or attestation issued on completion of a program of any duration leading to an occupation in a skilled trade (listed in Annex A); or
  • one or more diploma/certificate/attestation where the following conditions are met:
    • For diplomas/certificates/attestations, each program of study must be at least 8 months in duration and the combined length of the credential(s) must be equivalent to a two-year credential (at least 16 months in duration).
If your course is not 2 years longer then your NOC must match with Annex A NOCs listed at the bottom of below page.

Experts, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong and please forgive me as well as I don't want to provide any false information. I am just trying to help as much as I can. I hope this helps!

Why do you need to apply for a new stream ? Save some spots for someone who dont qualify for CEC. Dont be selfish

I don't think thats true because I know a friend who first paper PNP application but filed his CEC application later which got approved first. Are you quoting legalfalcon on this? Do you know where I can read more on this on the IRCC site?
