1. Does your cec application in process get affected if you lose your job?

2. Can you apply for EI benefits or it would negatively affect the file in process for cec.

please suggest!

1- No, they will study your application based on your previous years of experience at the time of application.

2- No, if you are on EI, it is your right and your money as you were paying that deducted in your paystub. EI is your money. Everyone who loses his job is entitled to apply to it. No impact on your application.

I agree with rosty2

As long as you qualified to apply under CEC when you applied, you can lose your job and even go back to your home country without losing your application.

You are also fine to go on EI if you qualify.

Rosty & Leon are 100% correct...

The only caveat being, if you have any out-of-Canada travel planned, you might want to reconsider... if you leave Canada, there is no guarantee you will be permitted to return if you no longer are employed by the employer named on your work permit...

However, if that happens, your CEC application will still be processed and you will eventually get your PR visa because it is not a requirement for CEC that you stay in Canada :)
