**** CEC 2023 Work History *** Help Needed

Hi,

I need clarification with how to put my work history.

I worked for 7 months , Then was on Medical Leave of absence for 4 months - was paid by insurance under short term disability ( we pay Short term disability premium with evry pay check - it is mandatory with my employer) No paycheck from employer during this time.

Then after this leave I joined back and worked for 6 months.
So how should I put this in my work history?
Should I split it to two lines?

PS: In my employment reference letter they mentioned dates as DATE OFJOINING to PRESENT - No gap’s mentioned

Please advise

No need to mention leave. It will only complicate things. Make a single continuous tennure of 17 months

Hi, But in Paycheck LOA hours are mentioned as an entry for 700 hours. They will check paychecks right? What do you suggest?
IRCC suggest submitting your reference letter, pay slips and T4 or NOA for all work experience you are claiming points for. The reference letter is the bare minimum. This is usually all most applicants submit, and it is fine.
However, If they want more proof for any work experience. They will request your T4 and pay slips, it would then be mandatory for you to submit these. If this did happen, there would be a discrepancy... this would be seen as misrepresentation as its affecting your score.

Personally, I would just be honest. Split the work on your history and when you submit your documents add an LOE and just explain the situation. This wont be an issue. Better to be honest in this situation.

Hi, Yes I understand what you are saying.
But It does not effect my score as I am claiming points only for 1 year or 12 months which I have even without gap.

But Am I making it complicated by mentioning the gap? Because my reference letter doesn’t specify any gap ; It states Date of hire - Present.
Will that be an issue that I put gap and split into two lines and attach same reference letter for both ? And reference letter doesn’t specify any gap?

But it affects how your application is processed. If you leave it in there, you are saying your worked FT for 16 months... you did not, you worked for 12 months and were on medical leave for 4 months, while received disability payments? correct?

If you are unable to provide pay slips for the 4 months you were on "medical leave", I would be confident in saying you weren't working. Which is exactly what you have said, you were not working.

If it doesn't change your score then leaving it out make's sense. You won't gain anything from leaving this in, and all you are doing is lying to the IRCC. Can you not ask your employer for an updated letter? Just explain to them and get the medial absence added?
This seems more of an admin error from your employer than anything. Ask them to just add on medical leave from - to, then back to FT work.

With due respect to can-brits, I think you are overkilling.

It's a clearcut one single job experience of 17 months, don't expect IRCC to account for leaves.

If I want to be honest I will explain iit thru letter of explanation, but i would be unnecessary creating confusion.

All good, entitled to our own opinions.

Personally I see no benefit in hiding it. Your shout Mark.

Yeah Your comment makes more sense to be on the safer side. i will try that with my employer. Just in case they do not give it like that with gaps/ mention regarding LOA is it okay if I would upload same reference letter ( which has dates Date of Hire - Present) in both the work history lines?

Yeah I would of thought. Just upload a detailed LOA with the exact dates and explain you were on medical leave but still employed, therefore your employer had the date continuous. You weren't physically working though so left it out of your profile.

I really wouldn't stress man! Just be honest and you have nothing to worry about!
***Please note: I am not an immigration professional, speak to someone who knows more if you want better clarity. This is just my opinion***

If 2 entries are created
Visa officer may find it difficult to consider it as continuous experience .
Unless you have other continuous experience.
That's the reason and suggesting one entry and LOE

Hi, I have 1 year continuous foreign experience. The question is with regards to CEC experience. It need not be continous right? Only FSW needs one year continuous experience, Right?
