CCTB and GST/ HST - how long does it take !

Dear friends,

can anyone pls tell that how long does it take for a new immigrant to start receiving CCTB and GST/HST after applying. Like I applied in mid of Aug '2014 and haven't received anything yet.

yes , but they didn't tell any definite timeline. Just asked to call after Nov 30' 2014 if I don't get any by that time.is it normal !

We started to receive ours within 2 months, but were initially told it could take up to 90 days. Mind you, when the first payment did arrive it did include the total payment for those 2 months.
 
For my younger brother, I think it took 4 months. HST/GST credit is applied when you file your tax return, and is a quarterly payment.
 
You need to be in Canada for at least a period of 18 months to be eligible to start receiving CCTB/UCCB for you children. When you do the application, it can take anywhere from 2 to 4 months.

not necessarily, if your family is there, that should do. This process is painfully slow. Just to upload a small info, they require eighty official days of working. Guys who landed with me have already got, my accountant put nil instead of zero for my wife's worldwide income. Got a letter from CRA that you send us a write up saying that worldwide income of your wife is "zero dollars" and I did that. Now that info is being uploaded for the last two months..huhh

The first sentence is incorrect. We applied for CCTB for my brother the same week as landing...and started receiving payments after 4 months.

Agreed. We were handed the forms as we left immigration after completing the landing formalities and the lady who handed the forms to us told us we should file for the CCTB/UCB ASAP.
 
We will land in Canada on June 2015. We have 2 kids ages 5 and 10.
how much cctb and gst allowance will i receive?
