Hey!! Oh I see what you mean, this is very helpful :)!! I’ll recoup with my lawyer mid September if I hear nothing back about his security check and discuss it with her but I think this is a good approach. So it’s like a bluff lol?
Call it what you like, but i'd call it the last step before you take the action itself. You are basically in good faith, informing CIC to lift their backsides from the chair and take some action. If they dont, then obviously, you are not going to keep waiting. right now you are joking and taking it light, but i wonder if your demeanor will be the same if you still hear no response from CIC in the next 6 months.

....and your lawyer.....its the sad part...they can't do much, just like the MP.

Unless and untill, its already too late, like 20+ months. And in your case, this has already happened. Technically, you are qualified for filing an Oder of Mandamus. No need to do so, first just inform them.

Hi Everyone,

I am Inland applicant, My Application for Permanent Residence (AOR) was submitted in November 2023. I received an pre-arrival services email and medical passed in May 2024, but since then, there has been no further update. After ordering my GCMS notes, I learned that my file is undergoing a comprehensive security screening due to my previous employment at an airport in India. Based on the officer’s notes, it appears that my file was forwarded to CBSA in mid-May 2024.

There is also a due date mentioned in the GCMS notes under Security as January 10, 2025. I'm not sure if this date is set for CBSA to complete the comprehensive check or if it has another purpose. If anyone has insight into what this due date might indicate, or if recent timelines for similar cases have been maintained, I would greatly appreciate your input.

I have a few questions and would be grateful for any insights:

1. Has anyone had a similar experience with their file being flagged for a comprehensive security check due to airport employment?

2. Aside from GCMS notes, is there any other way to track my file’s progress? I’ve heard about submitting an ATIP request through CBSA or CSIS and would appreciate any details on this process.

3. What kind of checks are typically involved in this security screening? It seems my spouse’s file was also sent for screening due to my employment.

4. I understand processing times can vary, but if anyone has an estimate of the current average timeframe for comprehensive security checks, I would be very interested to know.

Thank you in advance for your time and responses. Any guidance would be a great help, as the wait has been quite anxious and challenging.
