CBSA Records Correction

Hello,

My wife recently got her travel report from CBSA and most of her travel in the last 5 years is missing. I contacted CBSA and they sent me a form to get the record "corrected". With her citizenship application in process and recently her PR card renewal as well, this mess can delay both her applications.

http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/tbsf-fsct/350-11-eng.asp

I am wondering if anyone has gone through this process and what does it pertain, there is not a whole lot of information on the web? Any tips to expedite the process?

Thank you!

I had one missing entry and contacted CBSA privacy office and they did try various searches and could not find anything.

She said the following:

Let me start off by saying we process thousands of requests for travel histories and have encountered on numerous occasions travellers whose passports were stamped but the entry was not captured, for various reasons, in the Integrated Customs Enforcement System (ICES) by the Border Services Officer.

I am not sure whether the records can be added or not. Are you sure they will add it?

I want to say, Yes, they will add the entries but I don't know for sure. What I do know is that the CBSA contact listed on the letter that my wife got is the one who sent the form. Here is the exact email response from CBSA in case someone else can also benefit. The attachment referred to in the email is the link I posted in my original post earlier:

To request for a correction you have to complete this form (see attached) and send your request for correction online as you did for your first request.

You must had all dates that you think are missing, the copy of your passport (s) and copy of your permanent resident card as you did for this request.

The person who is in charge of correcting files will communicate with you if they need any other information’s.
Reading this response, I can't see why they would not correct the records.

Do you have stamp to support the entry?if no, then how will you prove?
in my case, only my PR card was scanned and there was no stamp because it was a land travel.

No stamps in the passport but boarding passes which at the minimum prove travel to a Canadian port of entry. I would have cared less if it wasn't for my wife's citizenship and PR card renwal.

I spoke to the officer who was working on my file, she said that the record correction form is only required to correct errors during the entry like date/time/port of entry etc.

If there are missing entries, it means that due to some reason either the PR card was not scanned properly or due to some technical reason the entry was not recorded. In that case, the missing entries can't be added.

Before sending your paperwork to the officer who worked on your file. Please contact the officer by email/phone (the email/phone number would be mentioned on CBSA record's cover letter) and ask if the missing entry can be added.

Let me know if sending copy of boarding pass etc helps you in adding the entry.

Ok, I will email her and re-confirm because there are no entries to begin with so no question about correcting them. She may have misunderstood my initial question.

Thanks!

I hope you have sent all your wife's past 4 years documents including passports/pr card etc.
In my case, I have two passports (one current, one cancelled) and a PR card. I have sent all three to include in search for records. I hope you have also included everything.

On the cover letter they must have mentioned that they have used your specific documents to include in your search criteria.

I sent the PR card and current passport but not her previous passport although the entry from previous passport showed up but not from travel on new passport last year. I will check CBSA's letter to see what they based their search on.

The search criteria will be mentioned on the 1st page to show what documents they have used and next few pages might show the search criteria.
