Hi,
I have not travelled at all in the preceding 4 years of my citizenship application. I have all the 1460 days of presence

Do I still need to get the CBSA record

Well.. in the latest citizenship application form, there is a check box....where they can directly get history of entries from CBSA.

Do I still need to get the CBSA record.

Please advise

It's clearly stated in the application guide as well as the application form to not request a CBSA report (certainly you should grant CIC the right to request one on your behalf by ticking Yes).

the new rule says don't request and send CBSA record as CIC will directly fetch. But what happens if someone overlook this and requested CBSA report directly and then attaches with the RQ or citizenship application. Also same time the person also gave consent to CIC to fetch the report directly. Is there any consequences for not following the law. What worst can happen. Is there any action like fine or prosecution against this mistake?

Here is what I did, maybe it'll help. I ordered CBSA , compared the dates with what I have(stamps, boarding passes....) and kept the form for myself. Why submit it if they are telling you DO NOT REQUEST IT YOURSELF. After all even if you provide it they will still order an original one from the agency, it's part of their job.

You don't need to append the CBSA report with your application but as mentioned by others in this forum it can be helpful to request a copy for yourself for 2 possible scenarios:
(1) You could verify dates of your reentries to Canada especially now where PR card is suffice to return to Canada and you end up without re entry stamps on your passport
(2) You can bring it with you when you get called in for interview and test, and provide a copy to your interviewer. CIC can request the report with your consent but it could save you the wait for them to get it should they need the report.

What you can do in the meantime with regards to your application is copy ALL pages of your passport(s) including blank pages as proof (though not necessarily absolute) that you never left Within the last 4 years. Preferably use colour photocopies.

1. Latest citizenship application from clearly states that you should not send the CBSA record - you consent to CIC getting this directly.

2. If you disregard 1 above and send the CBSA record then its not a ground for refusal but what's the point if CIC will get it themselves? Your CBSA report could be a made up fake document is the rationale here.

3. You can request your CBSA entries/exits (exits to the US now recorded) if you wish for your own records - even if provided at RQ then CIC must under due diligence still ask for the records directly...you could be giving them fake entries!!
