Hey all
I am really sorry for how naive this question might sound but I am a bit over compulsive when it comes to situations like that

My question is related to the cbsa declaration kiosks, specifically the ones at Pearson's
Is it possible for the kiosk to miss scanning your PR card? I mean I remember getting a receipt but it was so smudgy I couldn't see my face I it or what information it included up to the point that the customs officer directed me to another area where the officer asked for my birth date and looked at my passport (can't remember if PR card too) and then checked on the computer and she let me go.

TLDR: I approached the kiosk, scanned my PR card, was presented with a receipt but I am worried that the kiosk didn't register my information upon entry, is that possible given I was presented with taking a picture and a receipt

Thank you and I apologize for the rather dumb question

Might be possible, yes. Machines fail from time to time, happens.

However, I don't think they would have let you out without the entry being registered in the system, either on the kiosk or manually. If an officer led you in for a a brief "interview", IMO, they would have made sure that your entry was registered.

Further, the issue might have just been low printer ink at the kiosk. As long as the Kiosk accepted your documentation and a receipt was printed, you should be good IMO.

If you see the need, just request the Entry/Exit records from CBSA and you'll know if the entry was registered (which, I would say, is very likely).
