It is now possible to get US entry/exit records online. I just tried it and successfully got my travel history within a couple of minutes.

If you are a Non-immigrant U.S. visitor seeking access to your I-94 arrival/departure record for any point within the past five years, on May 1, 2014, CBP launched a new webpage that will allow you to retrieve this information without filing a FOIA requests. The portal will provide you access the date and port of entry of your arrivals and departures from the United States for the past 5 years.

When you visit http://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/i-94-instructions you can retrieve your I-94 arrival/departure record number and five-year travel history by entering your name, date of birth, and passport information.

Clicking on “Get Travel History” will return a five-year travel history based on the I-94 records, which you also can print.
Here is the link to get you direct to the I-94 travel history request: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html

Sorry to hear that @ saywisdom. There do seem to be problems with accuracy of the data.

All of my trips are there, however despite all of the entry dates into the US being correct some of the departure dates are well off. (I am not so bothered about this as I have accurate entry dates into Canada with the CBSA report).

I can only assume this down to when they process your returned I-94 slip. I am also assuming multiple trips under the same I-94 within the validity period may not show up as well. For example there were a couple of occasions where we took day trips to the US and at a later date returned our I-94 slips to US immigration at Vancouver airport, as we knew we wouldn't go back to the US within the validity period. The departure location is shown as Vancouver and the date is shown as the date we returned the slip and not when we exited the US (difference of many weeks)!

There is also some duplication of records. Those issue aside, from my perspective if this record is to just be used to backup proof of entries into the US then it is fine. I hope you all find the same.

1. Personally I am not going to submit this as a supplement to CIC at this point in time, unless if otherwise asked. (My application is with them right now).

If CIC really want the US entry/exit records, they can now look it up instantly by themselves with this great tool! They have my name, passport number, date of birth, and pretty much all the info they need to verify independently my US travels on this website. CIC, if you are reading this, check out this great tool and click on "Get Travel History":
https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html

However I think this is a great printout to include for people whose application hasn't been submitted yet - to ensure dates are accurate.

2. The info is not complete! The US system only captured 50% of my entries into the USA and about 1/4 of my exits (so much for all the fingerprint scanning!). But... the dates are all accurate, which would give CIC much assurance.

I agree. I've not submitted my application yet and I will not be submitting the travel report with it. It's not requested in the application package and I think the state of the data would could more confusions than clarifications with CIC. As you said, it's useful to confirm the accuracy of the residence calculator dates and I would probably take it to interview if I get that far.

Personally, I already got my CBP record through FOAI and it shows all my entries to the USA (more then 10), so I was surprised that new tools didn't find any one ::)

saywisdom,

I had the same problem too that it couldnt find one single entry...
Then i tried something different.

If your u.s. visa is on an older/expired passport, try that passport number rather than the current valid one.

That worked for me. That being said...the entries are a mess...Exit entries are totally messed up, especially for road trips.
CIC can figure it out, if they want. It just makes the harder cases with lots of day trips and multiple entries on the same I-94
all the more confusing to understand.

I tried both, expired and current passport, same result "Not Found"....

As pedros mentioned, you don't need to bother yourself with USA exits (as all the exit will be shown as entries on the CBSA record), so the most important thing is the entries !

This is an excellent tool.
I wish CBSA had a similar one for Canada.
This will make tracking so easy.
Come on CBSA Canada, come up with this...

Note that this does not work for U.S. citizens, who do not need and cannot get an I-94.

CBP state the tool is not 100% - problem seems to be more land crossings or where an I-94 has been used multiple times!
