It says to be eligible you have to:

To be eligible, you must

• have accumulated, within the past 3 years, at least 6 months of continuous work experience (in Canada or abroad) in a single occupation listed in the table below
• meet all of the requirements in the instructions for that round

Does this mean that you need just 6 months of total work experience in Canada in the last 3 years or minimum one year of work experience (any job) out of which 6 months should be in the categories described above?

Same question here. To enter the pool of express entry, it requires atleast 1 year of work experience. So, are they allowing people with 6 month experience to enter the pool as well?

Used to be that you need 1 year of experience in an occupation. But now you qualify with 6 months. However all the other criteria remains the same for FSW/CEC/FSTP..So, still need 1 year of work experience to enter the pool but if you have an experience as a Nurse only for 6 months in the last 3 years and rest experience is in other occupations, still qualify to enter the pool. FSW = 67 points .. CEC = 1 year of work experience

I’m the unluckiest person in the planet. Failed my previous TEF exam, did it again and this time it went really well. Although still waiting for the official attestation. If it goes as planned my score will be 514 but now I have to worry about competition within French speaking candidates. I guess Canada might not work out after all.

But for French speaking candidates, the 3 year rule won’t apply hopefully? As my eligible work ex is 4 years old.

For example NOC 41200 - postdoctoral fellow and NOC 41400 - Natural and applied science policy researchers, consultants and program officers. Work responsibilities listed for postdoctoral fellow and NOC 41400 are almost/exactly same besides the postdoctorate hold a highest academic degree.


Because NOC 41400 is one of the profession listed under this program.
QUESTION: would a postdoctoral fellow due to same/similar responsibilities be considered equal to NOC 41400 through express entry system?

I’m the unluckiest person in the planet. Failed my previous TEF exam, did it again and this time it went really well. Although still waiting for the official attestation. If it goes as planned my score will be 514 but now I have to worry about competition within French speaking candidates. I guess Canada might not work out after all.

That's a pretty good score, and if you have a good result in TEF you will be top priority for IRCC, french speaking candidates will be highly sought after.
Keep faith, i waited 2 years to get an invite.

Okay thanks. Is it possible to use a different NOC code in EE profile than what actually is offered. I.e using 41400 instead 41200. Job offer, closed work work permit and experience letter clearly states the job title "postdoctoral fellow". Your NOC must match your NOC listed on your LMIA exempt permit.

I hope so. Although my another concern is IRCC asking for experience within last 3 years even for French speaking candidates. My work ex is 4 years old. But I’m hopeful because they haven’t mentioned it anywhere for the French proficiency category. So let’s hope for the best.
